He may not have such an advantage here as on the faster tracks but the smoother ride of the 18 over the bumpy track than the other leading cars can manage could well edge it again for Max or Checo.

Sure . But just like in this year , the FIA can help Mercedes with that

Update : New upgraded Ferrari floors at Singapore !

Is this the last '22 Ferrari convulsion ?

Well that's fine if only to keep them ahead of Merc.
The only thing Merc have to show acclaim for is heating the diesel with an additive mixed in their race car transporters to be a little more economical, they claim 89% more but we know how a wolf lies through his discolored teeth heheh

Yeah HAM remains at Mercedes . I have already read the article earlier today .

But he can always try to get Latifi's seat at Wiliams to show his driver skills

He has always claimed it's the driver not the car that got his 6 titles with Merc so would impress everyone if he did go to Williams.

Yes everything they have done this year to progress the car from the beginning of the season has definitely come close to eliminating the gap on a track like this if not outright giving them the pace advantage. Their ability to handle a rougher track better than the others should definitely help. I don't however think Checo will be faster though, just Max still at this point. And definitely if Max is faster it certainly will not be a Spa situation - would think it still pretty close.

It turned out that to make the 18 quicker in reducing weight to get near the allowed minimum weight has had an adverse effect on Checo with a more skittish car that Max controls with quick intputs that doesn't agree with Checo, so a slightly different set up is needed for car 11 to keep him on track.

Definitely and not only were they able to just lose weight but they were also able to redistribute a bit as desired to get to that pointy car that Max thrives in. I do not think that it as slowed Checo down per se - more that he has not been able to progress with that evolution like Max can. Also both Fer & Merc have gotten faster while Per has been fairly stagnant. A bit counterintuitive to remove some potential in one of their cars but I agree that is likely what will be needed to bring Checo back to being competitive for P2 more often that not again. Not sure RBR will want to do that or not as it will remove some valuable data that they use for the lead car. Maybe a year that doesn't require as much intensive development like a first year will allow them some time and budget room to explore this.

Max is on course to take the championship and RB the Constructors though this will mean reduced wind tunnel time next season compared with others, I believe a new weight reduced tub is built already and if not fitted this season will compensate partly for wind tunnel penalty in '23.

Back in the early seventies the safety equipment was still poor with that visor looking almost paper thin, it's like a normal motorcycle helmet with press studs to secure it.
Sir Jackie Stewart was pressuring a hard to listen Fia all the time to improve drivers' safety and all that was needed there was a thicker visor and Helmut would not have lost an eye.

23 turns in a single lap of 5 km will sure test a car for ancillary sturdiness especially being full of bumps as in Marina Bay so bad news for the Alfa

No way Albon races this, right? If he does... and if he squeaks out a top 10 (heck, a top 12 hahaha), he gets toughest driver of the year award.

Yes .Albon was forced to miss Monza after being diagnosed with appendicitis , Albon ended up in intensive care after suffering “post-operative anaesthetic complications, which led to respiratory failure”.

The latest according to Albon :

Albon has increased his fitness preparation this week and while it is a major challenge to be ready for one of F1’s most physically-demanding races, he is believed to be determined to race if he can.

He will only drive if ready and Williams is prepared to give Albon as much time as possible to recover.

A decision is likely to be made early next week. Reserve driver Nyck de Vries, who deputised for Albon in Italy and scored points on his F1 debut in the process, is preparing for another potential substitute appearance if needed ...
