Even more so when you need a nut or bolt from BMW. Only problem is... BMW AG won't just sell you one nut or bolt... you usually have to 10 fasteners unless your dealer is willing to keep some on hand for future parts sales. Even so... nuts and bolts parts prices are dirt cheap over here compared to in the states.

Dealer markup in USA is ridiculous....nut and bolts...and other parts.

And I suspect BMW markup is just as bad on parts.

For fun, look up some m4 prices in scandinavian countries like denmark or norway
