People will survive the wait. I ordered my M4 in February 2014 and did not take delivery until late August 2014 - a 6 month wait and I survived.

Why are people trashing BMW over this? They did not cause this to happen and do not make the differentials. Be glad that they identified the problem and are taking actions to make it right. It can't happen overnight. Many people need to take a chill pill

I think the "chill pill" stage is gone. People are frustrated, BMW has provided no answers. Genius is no help, (because again, bmw has given them next to nothing) and people all over the board have called BMWNA awaiting a 1-3 response time...

Think about this, the only info many people have is from THIS forum. While we all use this forum for resources, it still shouldn't be the main place to FIND info on a recall holding back hundreds of cars. Imagine all the folks who don't use internet boards, left completely in the dark.

Just not right imo. We all recognize things go wrong from start to finish etc, but people just want to know a timetable on things at this point. Thats all

What I stated is accurate per working on BMWs since I was 14 and remaining friends with folks who ended up pursuing auto mechanics as a career and work at BMW dealership service bays in my hometown.

You're a bit of a troll.

Is your car at the PC? Mine has been there for almost a month. I'm having my CA check if they have any idea when the parts will arrive.

My 2016 M4 has an updated dealer delivery date of 8/15 (said the work order has started) according to Genius. My car arrived at port Hueneme on 7/18.

I think we were on the same boat. I now have a dealer delivery date of 8/16.

I think mine arrived at the VPC between 7/10 and 7/15. Was supposed to pick up last Friday.

He is working to feed this information through the large machine that is BMW corporate.

All though we are a close, tight, and connected community we are probably a small percentage of the M population. Therefore, in my opinion, most of the customers outside of our network wont know the difference or accept a few week delay. Again, purely my guess. So, all though i'm frustrated, I also understand the logic to hold the cars at VPC vs. use dealer network. A few of us that were caught in transit to ED / PCD were affected the most and it completely sucks - please escalate your frustration to your CA.

He is a really nice guy and equally frustrated as us because he has M roots, and knows the M community is extremely loyal and passionate about the brand. For me, some average Joe, to receive a call from him speaks volumes to the commitment they have to resolve the issue and get us on the road with our new babies. Personally, i'm stuck not sure if I am able to take delivery on 8/8 (probably not) but this phone call helped to put my frustration at ease.

I hope this info helps and don't hesitate to drop me a PM.

Who knows, they haven't been back to expand on that, but they mentioned they work for BMW on an earlier post.

Another day and no new info on my car. I am being told to sit tight and wait for news.. and to add insult to injury my 90 day credit app expired again. So if I want it I have to submit a third credit application for the car.

Which 'port' are you referring to? Maybe you meant a specific VPC? I'm sure you didn't mean an actual ship port, because those wouldn't be arriving for another 10-20 days.

These things are shipping via air freight.

Nope they're on a boat. Been confirmed by BMW rep on a call earlier this week with my GM and I. They were due to get in sometime today though, as my car's new pick up date is Friday.

I'll check in with them tomorrow and post any updates I have. This better not be another delay because I'm already making payments on a car I can't drive and if the delay is real I may be asking for a refund.

I'm pretty sure he's being sarcastic about the differentials not working properly.
