^^^Nice shot, but if you leave it tilted like that, all the water will run out of the picture.

I thought about rotating it, but I think it gives it a nice subtle tension. Plus I lose some vignetting after the crop.

Thank you! And yes, this is from the 100-400L. It was taken at 400mm, f/8, 1/1000 sec., and iso 640, IS off. Pretty much straight out of the camera minus a pretty significant crop.

I shot the moon yesterday, hand held with the 500mm on the 7D. Prior to sunset, hence the blue sky:

When you get a clear sky, the moon is a great test of a lens' resolving power.

TL, your Cloisters shot reminds me of a snapshot I took years ago at the Carmel Mission. Not near as nice as yours, though.

Since we're "cloistering," here's one from San Juan Capistrano taken with my old FZ-18.

The nice clear Colorado high altitude air definitely helps moon shots a lot. Comparing between ones i've shot around home to ones I've shot near my dads place in CO makes a massive difference.

however, that 500mm makes a huge difference too

It was actually a color shot that I converted, then tinted. But thanks.

The car looks great. It was 60 here yesterday. If I had been at home I would have been out washing cars.

Whatchu Lookin' At? by mkrepp, on Flickr

Shot just as the sun was coming up this morning. Ran into a herd of 50-60 elk. Mainly cows, but a couple bulls in the mix. One was rather large, likely a 6x7, but by the time I got my camera up, he was just over the ridge.
