First one I ever played was an early version of what became Pac-Man. Same basic idea except it was missiles chasing an airplane around the maze. That was in Korea in the mid-70s.

I played "Adventure" (or "Colossal Cave Adventure"), running on <mumble>'s mainframe, in the 1970's via a friend's in-home terminal. It was mildly addicting.

The same fellow also had a flight simulator program for his home-built personal computer; that so-called game took over 30 minutes to load via floppy disk. It was utterly awful; there were no graphics to speak of beyond some terrible ASCII stuff, and it was as abysmally slow to run as it was to load. I can't find any references to it online which strikes me as fitting.

I remember a similar Commodore 64 game where you were in a building and a bomb was going to go off soon. You could either try to leave the building or find and defuse the bomb. I don't recall ever "winning" that game. Always got blowed up.

I had a Commodore 64 and I really liked it. It was my 2nd computer. The 1st one was a Timex-Sinclair 1000. With the Timex-Sinclair, I had to load programs with a cassette player/recorder. I had a cool (and crude) flight simulator that took 6 minutes to load!

Good luck on Match. It worked for me a dozen years ago after my wife passed away and we are living happily ever after. I think I signed up for six months initially, then another six after that. I do not remember any horror tales -- I met a lot of very nice people, most of whom I did not "click" with. Give it time.

The only other thing I would add is that a physician on match will be a little like pouring blood in the water with sharks around. Is there any profession with higher prestige?

Yup, Linda Ronstadt and an MGB (although from this angle it could be an MGC - the wheels/tires almost look 15")

Me also. Amazed in college going into the computer room. A whole room required for a computer that probably would be out gunned by a modern cell phone.

Think your guess of MGC might be right...not only do the wires look like 15", they also look like 72 spoke (vs. 60 spoke).

I dunno. It's a rough picture but I don't see a hood bulge.

EDIT: I spent thousands of miles in our '71 BGT so I'm fond of them. Always thought they were beautiful things.

Maybe you refer to the "Impossible Mission" strategy game featuring the mad scientist shouting ("Another visitor. Stay a while... stay forever!"). It was rather frustrating because, without some 'cheat mode'/'trainer mode' and frequent venturing, chances of survival were low and game complexity high. I knew how it ended as someone had taped the final stage.

I remember that game. Loved the platform games from back in the day.

One I remember fondly was Jumpman for the C64. Was released for several other platforms, including cartridge for ColecoVision.

The game I referred to was text only. No graphics or sound whatsoever.
