Watched "Mother's Instinct" with the Wife and Sneetch tonight.
This was the 2024 version with Jessica Chastain & Anne Hathaway. The two female leads were excellent, and watching their acting and the dynamic between them was great. The rest of the movie? That's one hour and thirty four minutes that we'll never get back. It tries to be a Hitchcockian suspense thriller, but misses the bar badly. It's a pass unless you're a big Chastain or Hathaway fan. Oh boy. Aliens has been my favorite movie since I first saw it in theaters. I will argue to the grave with anyone that it is the best sci-fi movie of all time by a mile. However, I don’t think anyone can deny it’s been all downhill for the franchise since then. Will this new one bring back some magic? Hope springs eternal, but I’ll believe it when I see it.
