I don’t chime in much here as I’ve been out of LEO duty for 15 yrs.

But I treated most everyone as if they were HIV +, in possession of a weapon, and had an active warrant. I learned early on that if I used this mindset....my self and fellow officers would typically avoid injury and /or violence.

Fortunately he was able to leave through the door, but he almost came out through the window. He is cozy in the cage currently.

Sometimes I wonder if *ALL* the cash makes it back to the evidence room. I mean, the cash on display here *probably* did because there are photos of it...but the cash from the bust to the photo...that's the cash I wonder about.

I saw a NY State Trooper climb onto the roof of a Lincoln Mark VII after a looooong high-speed chase, rip the sunroof off with his bare hands, and yank the driver out by grabbing under his armpits back in the late 1980's. All y'all in California have some way to go before you top that one!

I understand your position (…from a sensitivity perspective), but the background is relevant……as troubling as the facts may be. Omitting their relationship removes the core components that establish the "why?!?

The information is essentially public. FOIA, among other laws, make our investigatory paperwork subject to request by the media, etc. Also keep in mind that reporters have their contacts as well.

I'm curious, I did a search I swear, but what's the range on the radar guns? Specifically the laser (optic guns you hold up to your eyes) ones. Here in Hawaii it's all they use, and in the last two months the police presence on the side of the highways clocking people has gone up 100 fold. They used to have just one or two standing on the side, now they're doubling up and having two standing side by side just pulling over multiple cars.
