Does the red dot make it harder to conceal? Harder to deploy?

The dots are on top so they’re concealed with the slides. The primary printing issue is with the grip.

Like chowser51 said, the hardest part to conceal is the grip. I carry either a Sig P365xl or a M&P 9mm full size. Both have red dot sights. The RDS does not interfere with concealment or the draw. |

No - I hate having a case specific for only one firearm. I take one sheet out (this case has 3 sheets lower and one upper) and cut it into varying length strips. Then I put in whatever I want to pack and put the strips around it. That way I can haul shorty AR's, long barreled bolt actions, optics, handguns etc and change it each time I need it. Gives me more versatility with each case.
Kind of like this, but not quite done packing yet.

I appendix carry a P320 Full w/red dot, threaded barrel & Griffin Armament micro carry compensator, and Streamlight TLR-1s. No issues with concealment or draw. On another note, my “tax stamp” finally came back and yesterday I picked up my new addition. (Pics coming) |

It’s slowly coming along.
Looks like it should get done in time for my son’s 15th birthday. Slide work done by Middlebranch Machine. G Kit single sided lever done by WAL. |

In Regards to home safes, Im looking at finally purchasing one, what are your thoughts on Stack On? I have a buddy with one and it seems like a solid, well built unit.

I only have two of the Stack On "cabinets". They're good for what they're meant to be. Something to keep young kids out of. Give me a few minutes alone with a pry bar and it can be dismantled.
I stuck one at my ex-wife's house because it was cheap and it passed ATF agent's inspection for my FFL license. |

1. Those "safes" are Residential Security Containers. Most gun safes are just RSCs. 2. They are just another layer of security; they aren't capable of stopping a dedicated attack. 3. Buy a bigger version that what you think you need. No, bigger than that. 4. If you want real fireproofing, buy a dedicated fireproof box to put inside your safe to protect small valuables and papers. The gun safe probably won't cut it. 5. Bolt the safe to the floor or wall so it can't be easily knocked over. The top and back seams are the weak spots. 6. Security through obscurity. Keep your valuables out of sight and don't tell people you have a safe full of guns. Hide the safe if you can. 7. Buy the most you can afford, because you will fill it up. |

I don't see myself needing a several thousand dollar safe to achieve that but I also don't want a gym room locker haha.

https://www.costco.com/cannon-43.8-c...100341405.html Issues you know about, that all of us don't. Do you own the house? Do you know where you are putting this safe, because I have moved a couple of safes into back bedrooms, basements, etc. and that is the hardest part in my book. Then you need to be able to bolt it down. If it isn't going to be bolted down, go look on youtube and the large expensive safes are only an extra ten minutes of security. Like someone else said-it can't be too large. Somehow they just fill up. |
