Bon Jovi - Living on a Prayer
And they wrote some of their own stuff which was mixed in.

There's a good chance they'll get to play the RR HOF come spring. We'll see.

Hell of a lot more than I did as a kid. Our band would just play in the garage...and sounded...we'll...good to us

I'm having a real hard time taking pictures of these shots with stage lighting. Some are blown out...some are blurry. Out of 500+pics, I bet only 1/2 are in focus...and another 1/2 of those are blown out. I'm struggling with these shots...

that's awesome! Did you by chance tape it like you did with the other one? I think before you mentioned she played a PJ song?

If her band plays here let me know

awesome shot Dave! I would've cropped a little tighter on the left to remove that artifact in the foreground.

That's a tree on the left. I intended to crop that out totally, but missed a sliver.

dave, do you know if the 1.4 TC still focuses on a 100-400 L series? I know the 5.6 is a little on that high side, but i just wasn't sure.

It'll only AF with a "pro" body, like a 1D MkIV. I had a 400/5.6 and that had the same problem with my 7D and 5D MkII. You need to start with f/4 and the 1.4x will take you to the f/5.6 limit.

gottcha.... so would only work with my 70-200 F2.8, but pretty much defeat of having the 100-400 and i still won't reach as far unless i get the 2.0TC, and then I'm worse off then the 100-400 since it at least starts at F4.

I guess i'll Leave that on the backburner and keep dreaming about the 1D then

Reed, you lose one stop with the 1.4x TC and two stops with the 2.0x TC. The only bodies that AF with f/8 are the 1D series.

Yes, the 2.0x TC will AF with you f/2.8.

If AF speed is critical, a 100-400mm or 400mm f/5.6 will AF faster than a 70-200mm f/2.8 with a 2x TC. The 2x is useable, just not ultra fast. A 1.4x TC will be pretty darn fast.

Dave

good to know, I think the reach on the 100-400 is pretty good, I just dream of options

but i won't really be able to explore those without the AF (yes i could manual focus, but fear of the missed opportunities due to clumsyness)

And this is why we go big megapixels, we can digitally zoom by cropping

thanks for the info guys. You've confirmed my suspisions.

Dave the Buck shot is great too but I agree w/ Chewy - the sliver of the tree throws me off a touch.

Not exactly. (I see that you said megapixels and not pixels, but this is a point of confusion for many, so I'll go on for the noobs). Big pixels, all other things being equal, give lower noise, but less detail, particularly when cropped. The 7D has a very dense pixel-pitch, which will sacrifice some noise, but yield more detail.

I'm worried about large pixels on the 1D-X. The 5D MkII will likely yield more detail on cropping than the amazing new X, which is stunning in all other regards.

So, for cropping, you want small, dense pixels, shot at relatively low ISOs. For high-ISO with low noise, you want large, efficient pixels.

If you asking about the buck, that's all natural light, coming from behind his head and greatly defused by the trees. Ideally, I would have liked an eye light.

Thanks.
