Loved Teaberry gum. Hated the ice trays with the levers.

I didn't get all 17 but more than I care to admit. Party lines were before my time but I know what they are. What the hell is Butch Wax?

Butch Wax is what we put on our hair as kids. We'd get a crew cut at the barber and use Butch Wax in the front for style.

We have a family cabin with a bathroom attached to the woodshed. This bathroom is circa 1930s and in it next to the sink is a shelf with a jar of Butch Wax sitting on it. Once in awhile, I open that jar and put a tiny bit on my hair to remind me of the old days.

Had a crew cut when I was a kid, up until about the age of ten. Never used butch wax.

Again, stepping off your lawn.

Cracking those open was worse than chalk boards and finger nails

Chalk boards, where you write whatever Bart did wrong that week.

This. And your fingers would freeze to the lever.

My folks made us get crew cuts every summer. Now I have one all the time. What's old is new again.

...and when you were bad in school, the teacher would make you take all of the chalkboard erasers outside and beat them together to remove the chalk dust. How did we all ever survive those days, being subjected to the chalk dust death cloud and having it on our hands/clothes all day?????

Here's me on my lawn with my older brother and sister. I'm sure I had a little butch wax going on there.

You may join me on the lawn anytime!

Ours made the ice cubes crack into multiple pieces.

Or, the handle bent.

Or, the tray was frozen to the fridge, and wouldn't come out.

They worked better when you ran them under cold water for a second top and bottom. I have to say the plastic ones that you twist are much better.

Not so here. Black oil sunflower is getting pricey. The seed store owner was just showing me his invoice last week when I bought a 40lb bag. I think he was worried I'd stop buying it from him.

P.F. Flyers, Butch Wax and S&H Green Stamps. The green stamps is probably because I'm Canadian. The sneakers ( yes I Googled it.) and the wax might be because I'm not that old.
