Going into this season, USC lost two elite receivers to NFL, including JuJu. Also almost there entire offensive line to draft and injuries. That is why Darnolds numbers were down. They will come back, recruiting is still building from nearly having the death penalty put on the school, they only have been back to full scholarships for a couple recruiting classes. Also went through as*hole Kiffin and the drunk Sarkisian as coaches . Their 2018 class is looking quite strong.

I lived in Ohio for almost 4 years. I have friends that born and raised in Ohio, that are much more of Buckeyes nut hugger than you. Like to give them sh*t every year, OSU always seems to f*ck something up. They should have never lost to Iowa like they did. The OU loss at home was OSU losing to the better team and QB.

Meyer looks like he did when he quit on Florida. Every time they show him on sideline he looks stressed. Those losses just kill him.

A little bitter are we? 8 sacks, pick 6, brutalized by the rush...Sam was very familiar with the stadium turf that day. Try winning something in our lifetime without paying players...You guys have a lot catching up to do. When Chip Kelly gets his players and when Eason transfers to UW, you'll be a mainstay at the Holiday Bowl for many years.

Oh yeah, and sell some tickets... It's an embarrassment when a "perennial power" Iike yourself can only get 60k into a game.

Btw, why would Emory want to sit 3 years behind another 5 star backup QB? Good for him, I wouldn't go to Ohio State given the QB situation either.

My school, Tulane, was undefeated in 1998 and also finished ranked #6. Jumping on the National Championship bandwagon a local store is offering 1998 National Champions t-shirts!

Legit question for USC fans: Do you believe in Helton as HC? I feel like he has done well these past few years because of Darnold and his assistants. With that qb, the talent around him, and being in the PAC-12 Meyer or Saban would have been to the CFP.

I vaguely remember that. I looked it up and Tennessee won the NC that year after going undefeated. Even tougher sell for Tulane than UCF.

I happen to think it was a travesty the BIG10 was not properly represented this year.
A ridicluous rematch of the SEC championship w/o giving other legitimate contenders a shot.. I'd even have felt better if they let UCF in there to see what they were made of instead of a same ole' game.
Just ridiculous decision making this year .. and once again the call to an 8 team playoff because of flubs like this.

It wasn't a rematch of the SEC championship. Alabama didn't make it to the SEC Championship. Last 2 years seem to indicate that missing conference championship game is an advantage, which is the opposite of how it should work IMO.

Who got no chance? Ohio St. would have been in if the had taken care of Iowa. UCF who played 1 ranked team in the regular season.

Pick your system, AP/UPI polls, BCS, current four team play-off, some suggesting eight team play-off, bottom line is some one will be left out and feel slighted. Go eight team and #9 will cry they got screwed... Heading toward participation trophies.

4 team playoff is fine. The inconsistency with the selection committee is the problem.

Hell let #5 play #4 as a wild card round to see who moves on to play #1 for all I care. There's going to be a problem with any system, and the more teams you start to let in, the more average the resumes get.

Regardless, it's going to be 4 teams through 2026, so the tears will just keep on flowing.
