The Forward Control RMR adaptor plate for Glock MOS came back in stock so I ordered one for my new G17. While I was there I picked up a morale patch.

Finally picked up my Gen 5 Glock 17 MOS. I did my usual running 100+ rounds through it before taking it home and overhauling it. I also brought my P365 to run some through the mag with the new pinky rest extension. No problems found.

Trying to talk myself out of an FN 5.7 that I've been eyeing. Any recommendations or arguments for/against? Gun really speaks to me for some reason.

Pics for attention:

Fired one. Was nice but not super impressed to the point where I wanted to buy one. The price of ammo was high before 2020, and not everyplace had it, so can’t imagine searching for 5.7 ammo now.

ammo is the main problem with this gun

ruger jumping in will definitely help, when things settle down a bit, no doubt ruger will have a rifle that probably will share mags in the works too

I mean, if you want a gun to shoot a caliber you can't get why not just get the Ruger version and save even more?

Cost of ammo isn't really an issue for me, nor in obtaining it, since my location precludes me to the fact I work nearly across the street from Buds Gun Shop.

The gun intrigues me for the simple fact of what it is - unique. I tend towards that in my 'fun guns'. I CCW a Sig 45 Ultra Compact, so that works fine as a proper defense weapon. This would just be a toy to shoot in my yard.

Back when I worked for the government, I was in Bosnia in the 1990's and traded a pair of jeans for this bad boy (attached) - not something that everyone has around the house in the USA.

Um, because Ruger?

Bleh - Ruger is the KIA of guns. They work just fine, but after all is said and done, you're still holding a Ruger. Other than the 10/22, most of their stuff is just 'meh'.

Seeing more and more "blue" colored weapons makes me ever so slightly anxious, since my eye/brain is trained to see "blue" as a training device as in (not live/function actual)

Good for you!!! 90% of folks that carry don't know what they don't know. The macho guy buys a pistol for his significant other and neither is properly trained.

I suggest that you buy NRA "Personal Protection Outside the Home" It will vastly improve your knowledge along with your practical factors. I have taken "Personal Protection Inside the Home, Outside the Home, And Defensive Pistol" Working on certs to teach all 3.

Again kudos!!!

As a kid I had a "Man from Uncle" camera/gun that did the transformation.

It does not, but funny true story.

When I was about 9yo or so, I had that transformer along with several others. I was headed to CT for the summer to spend time with my family and I would regularly travel back and forth from my home in FL to CT by myself. Going through security, I had that model and it was currently in the gun stage sitting in my carry on bag. The security people freaked out.

My mom, who was going through security as well (back then, you could walk someone all the way to the gate) was trying to explain to them it was just a toy. They wouldn't let me bring it on the plane and I was heartbroken, lol. The security guy even said, that if it was in my bag as the robot, they wouldn't have cared or even noticed.

I was stupid for not thinking it would be an issue, but hey - I was 9 and it was the early 1980's.

Fun times.

Have a PS90 and love it. Always thought I'd grab a 5.7 to go with it. I can never find night sights anywhere for them and so never bought one. If you go down that road Vanguard Outfitters makes a round called Black Dragon Fang. Not cheap, but it is in my secondary mag on the PS90. The PS90 with 100 rounds on tap is lighter then most of my other guns.

Have you gotten good swapping mags? That was my one issue with the P90/PS90, swapping mags always felt awkward and prone to not going quickly/smoothly, but that could just be lack of reps on my part...
