I saw pictures of Fernando losing it after Q3.
Now we know why. “Now I understand and perfectly share Alonso's anger on Saturday. The FIA mistook the car for APEX, the Brad Pitt movie, and sent Alonso to parc fermé, ending his session there although it was later resumed. Incredible” https://twitter.com/sergiorf97/status/1815...OYZo6iw0CJ-33g |

Norris - Piastri: McLaren referred in onboard communication with Norris to Sunday morning briefing commitments. It appears that Piastri abided, stuck to the plan, but that, due to the dynamics of the race and adopted race strategies, Norris considered going solo for the kill (in the end, under increasing pressure by his team, he yielded during lap 68/70). It seems that McLaren's Sunday morning plan underestimated the tantalising aspect for a race driver in the lead to always go for gold, regardless whether the race driver obtained an advantage through race strategy. The briefing should have included the "but what if my race pace as P1 improves?" variant - I doubt it did.
Personally I dislike team orders stripping a driver on his way to victory from that victory (it feels unfair, upsetting expectations and manipulating race results), but I do understand that achieving the race lead position due to agreed sacrifices made by a team mate during that race should also be taken into consideration by a race leader. A proper leader acknowledges/recognizes team efforts. If Norris would have pushed on to win the race, it could have had adverse consequences for the team spirit within McLaren: no team player. Piastri was allowed to overtake Norris at the race start (I guess no team order restriction to trail Norris). He was ahead of Norris for many laps. McLaren pit strategy gave Norris an advantage. Norris subsequently dashing off in the distance proved that he had definitely winning pace. But allowing his team mate Piastri his first GP race (he already won a Sprint race in 2023) was a proper investment in future co-operation: "Remember Hungary 2024, Oscar." Remember how the Vettel - Webber relationship got broken beyond repair after the "Multi 21" incident during the 2013 Malaysian Grand Prix: Vettel ignored what had been agreed and ignored team orders to refrain from overtaking Webber. Vettel's later apologies could not remedy the damage he had caused. See the video summary here.

Verstappen tantrums / onboard radio rage: illustrates his increasing frustration about how the season is evolving on-track and off-track and the massive pressure on him to get the WDC and WCC (team - strategy - team mate performance - car performance - own performance featuring racing incidents and mistakes).
At least it has the benefit for all those who listen to his messages to witness that he can genuinely speak his mind in an unfiltered way, straight-up, brutally raw and visceral. He doesn't beat around the bush. He wouldn't be where he is if he wasn't the person he is. He fights to win, takes no prisoners, and is disappointed if things don't come or go his way. A Formula 1 driver, no choir boy.

Also being on a single year contract as opposed to Vettel's multi year deal did him no favours and things coming to a head when the two collided and DNF Vettel finger pointing to his head saying 'I am an idiot' ? You have to laugh at that surely, someone wasn't right in the head and it wasn't Webber. |

Point to note for McLaren: make clear commitments in advance to avoid hurt feelings.

Gianpiero Lambiase (GP) is MAX's engineer , GP is the only onboard radio contact for MAX during the races . If they fire Gianpiero Lambiase , then MAX is gone too . Gianpiero Lambiase and MAX are like brothers or like a married couple . That's why they always fight over the onboard radio ...

Looks like the snap anti MAX goody two shoes comment is continuing with Brundle saying that is a penalty and later with slimy Rosberg podium commentator.
''If I see a gap I go for it, otherwise I'm not a racing driver'' obviously is well forgotten by them. To add to the lies and scandal the picture of the bump from this daily (that I keep an eye on) uses an image that is completely doctored ! as you'll see. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/29390...bull-mercedes/ |

No one says don’t go for a gap, but if you do, you better stick it otherwise the alternative outcome is usually a collision of some sort and you will get criticized. It’s a very simple concept. |
