If you want a thing done well, do it yourself...

“Leave me alone with this, if you ask things, don’t ask 10 times!”

"Leave me alone, I know what I'm doing."

What you you say, all car, cheating rocket ship. Driver has no talent and it’s just the car.

But I’m not so stupid to say something so childish and as we know the car and driver are both factors. Today, same car that was dominating at the start, you would be laughing but no the car isn’t working to Max driving style that he needs on the nose, arguable others might be able to make it do more even Perez was close at the last race.

Each driver has their time some longer than others, some get 7 championships if they are truly talented others, well others can’t quite make it.

Sometimes tires explode even when they are within spec (happened a lot in the past usually with Max until Pirelli raised the minimum tire pressure).
I'm also not sure if you realise that hards for some circuits are softs on others. This compound is the same compound as the Hungary race so Ferrari knows it will go the distance anyway.
Tire exploding was the least of Ferrari's worries, degradation and getting passed by a racy Papaya was Charles' only concern. But if his mate Sainz had taught him anything on strategy, having track position and a 20s advantage, if there was a safety car you get a free pitstop, so he had nothing to lose by going long. The worst case scenario he finish where he would have finished.
Pirelli had advised 30 to 31 laps as possible race strategy for hard tires at the Monza track. Leclerc didn't pit anymore after lap 15/53, so did ± 38 laps on hard tires, many laps pushing for victory. Not quite what other drivers and teams considered a proper choice during the race. First words of Piastri to Leclerc in the cool down room right after the race: "I was very surprised, well I was not surprised you stayed out, but I was surprised that you survived, because my front left was not looking great." Piastri drove the race and finished P2, so let's at least agree that the chap knows what he's talking about in his conversation with Leclerc.

Doesn't matter how long I follow F1 - maybe a couple of months, maybe a bit longer, who cares ? FWIW, I can say though that, as I was about an hour or so away from the Monza circuit during the race, I can assure you that it was a hot day in the region, even for locals. Or as the Belgian former racer Jacky Ickx (present on track during the race) coined it fittingly before the race start: "Welcome to the Monza cauldron" ("Bienvenue dans le chaudron de Monza"). And very likely Ickx wasn't merely referring to the sizzling Ferrari fans atmosphere.

Check the layout of the Monza circuit and make an educated guess whether a top speed of 362.5 km/h (225.2 mph) and only 11 turns for a 5.8 km track (3.6 miles) is a low, medium or high stress test for tires. Hint: at the end of the race, Norris clocked the fastest lap with an average speed of 256.1 km/h (159.1 mph).

To make tire life even more grueling past Sunday (tire deg - graining): the Monza track had gotten resurfaced, absorbing even more heat on a hot Summer afternoon. Start of the race: 54°C (129°F) track temperature and 34°C (93°F) outside temperature.

You're entitled to your opinion. Mine's that Leclerc was very lucky that his front left tire survived the challenging long and fast-paced stint to the chequered flag on a hot Monza circuit surface. As Ferrari strategies sometimes happen to be criticized as mind-boggling, logic-defying or obscure, Leclerc's front left tire saying "Basta!" and spectacularly going out with a bang at the Monza circuit, could have added insult to injury.

is that 31 laps on full tank or empty tank?

the monza track has hardly any fast corners, so very little lateral load on the tires. just go straight, like American roads.

Russell did 34 laps in Hungaroring corner after corner with a track temp of 53C.

I say CLC did his homework and made it work. Apparently he had graining, and then the graining disappeared.

No idea why Oscar had so much deg.

Alex Brundle analysis of Leclerc's final stint and the lap after lap radio discussion going on settings and the changes in Leclerc's driving style to make the tires last:

If you have F1 TV Pro, you can switch the Driver Cam to Leclerc and listen to all the radio discussion back and forth for the whole race. Very interesting, but I rarely watch anything other the world feed.

Edit: Team radio available in old races too. I just went back and watched Hamilton's re-start screw up in the 2021 Azerbaijan GP. As he did the cool down lap in silence and is sitting in the pit lane, he wonders "Did I have the magic on?" and it sounds like Bono says "Uh, yeah bud, just knock that on, we'll have a look at it in a bit".

Wow, thanks for that!!! I didn't know Ferrari put in so much effort. I believed they saw an opportunity to try a 1 stopper and just got lucky. I still wonder if a 1 stopper was the prime strategy all along

Today I came across this gem about Charles‘ lap times. Really impressive to see this accuracy.
Surprised more people aren't talking about this. The skill that it takes to maintain these times on a melting C3 compound from Lap 15 (let's say 17 or whenever he started hitting 1.23s) through 53 is unreal. Only race I can think of in recent times that can compare is Max in Mexico 2022.

What a driver.

CLC in an interview said they planned on a 1 stopper but the team pitted him early. That's why Carlos said what he said.
