After so many ponies 2 wheel drive becomes worthless in more ways than one.
Performance based rear biased xDrive with active rear diff makes complete sense to me. |

I don't get why you people (who are complaining) wouldn't want a proper performance based AWD system so you can actually put some of that power on the ground...

No more info on M3 CRT besides those old hints it might exist.
B48 PPK is not there yet. Just got reliable info that F90 is indeed 2018 intro. Looking back, bmwblog's F90 reporting over the past several months has been spot on. |

For me it is not all about going off the line - it is about feeling of the car. You can feel understeer/oversteer better than in awd like you are in kart( kart is basicly rwd Car is lighter and it has not torque steer which i hate especially in powerful premium cars. Weight distirbution is affected. And you can not powerlide car or drift even with 70:30 . Of course you can but it is very dangerous( reqires high speed) and difficult( awd torque distirbution is unpredictable)

Agree. Next M3/M4 seems plausible. I think Power eDrive is a likely pairing with the S58 too, maybe in a future, post G generation M5. Given the age of the current generation X3/X4, that's going to wait for Gxx. However, with the timing of the X3 vs. the 3, it seems at least possible the G generation X3 M, if it will exist, which I give a good shot, could predate the G generation M3. |

Totally agree with Mr.Sauerkraut, you reach a practical limit with what rear-wheel drive can do with today's power.

But this is a "family sedan", reducing size isn't really an option, and reducing weight is difficult because people buying this car want the luxury and amenities it offers. |

What if they use a new xDrive system?
What I am saying is, what if it's capable from going 0% FWD depending on conditions? And, what if it uses a lot of CF to keep weight down? Of course, based on current bloating trend you may be skeptical but you guys are right, if the car weighs north of 4000lbs it is DOA for most enthusiasts.

Agree. We are at the point now that to push the cars to the limit, all wheel drive is needed. I would love this on the F82.
