OMG I squandered every penny and every spare minute building and racing slot cars! We had 1/87 scale cars in the basement on a 4x8 plywood sheet. Aurora I think? I rearranged that track constantly. Then I had a few 1/24 scale cars too. We built a 4WD car, and a "Lil' Red Wagon" wheelie machine too. I also raced the Cox sidewinders, I think they started out as Chaparrals but we rebodied them. We even rewound our own motors a few times. Easier to do stuff like that when your dad is an electrical engineer.

Yeah, but you're a diabetic, right? Or you don't let that stop you? Or is 3 just the right amount/your limit?

I miss the plain old Dunkin Donut. The original without the sugary stuff. And crullers (I think they started calling them "sticks" or some such thing). Just the deep fried dough with no glaze or powdered sugar or filling.

Although I have to say I prefer the glazing, if the box in the break room allows a choice.

POPULAR misconception with insulin-dependent diabetes. I can eat just as much sugar as you can (maybe more!). It's just more difficult for me, lacking the natural feedback of the islet of Langerhans, to inject the proper amount of insulin to maintain a proper blood sugar level.

I eat some of everything, but in moderation. Currently working on keeping my BP down, and winning the battle.

I used to joke that I will take some sugary food with an insulin chaser on the side. These days, I have to shoot 25 units just driving past a donut shop.....

You know you're old when... you do not longer know who the 'famous' people are on tv.

Shows like 'Dancing with the Stars': Stars? What stars? I don't know them?
Judges on 'The Voice': who are those people? I heard a track once, but they don't know music...

And my daughters are like: "oh, my gosh it's that one youtube-star, or insta-influencer, or...!"

I've been that way for a long time. The hardest part about crossword puzzles are the clues referencing TV shows and musicians from the past decade or so. Aside from sports and an occasional mini-series on Netflix, I never watch TV. And IMHO (very humble), music died after 1990 or so.

I will get up from my desk and walk out of my office to do something and I get 20 steps and have no freakin idea what I got up for.....

I can remember phone numbers from 20 and 30 years ago though.
