So let me get this straight...Over 600hp and the 0-60 is only 3.3 seconds? Yeah, that's gonna be a "No" from me dawg.

That's true. Although even for that crowd.... the C63 competes with the M3/M4. And if all they care about is 0-60, is Mercedes using the 0.1s quicker 0-60 compared to the listed time for the M3 on BMWs website as the selling point (3.3s quoted by Mercedes vs. 3.4s quoted by BMW)? Would be interesting to see magazine times to see how that 0.1s difference holds up.

I don't know as I don't subscribe to that crowd. I have a 6MT M3 on order

One thing I'm curious about as I don't totally understand how this tech translates into real world driving (F1 cars are going balls to the wall, so that doesn't really work in the real world). So let's say I'm cruising at 50mph and I want to give my friend a little taste of power. Based on if my 10 second electric charge was used up previously or not... my car will either accelerate really quickly with the full 752hp on tap... or really slowly with just 569hp (469 from motor + 94 from electric motors) trying to push 4,654 lbs? Do I have that right? So based on how the electric charge was previously used, I'll see drastic differences in acceleration from a roll?

That's what I'm waiting for but if the performance is close to manufacturer times, then these power and torque figures don't mean much outside of being a number on paper for people to "oooh" and "ahhh" about because the C63 needs that much power to clock relatively same numbers as a M3/M4 that's down significantly on HP and torque.

Also curious about peak power. Is it passive or is there some sort of "over boost" that becomes available under certain conditions?

DRS for when you wanna overtake the damn Red Bull (I mean Honda) in front of you.

Maybe Checo if at all. DRS can't save the disappointment that is the W13. Hahaha

Impressive power figures

Until you notice this weighs as much as a yacht. 4700 lbs. Nearly 1000 lb more than the M3 and QV. These cars already felt very heavy and not willing to dance in turns, I can't imagine now.

i think people are forgetting one key metric. 5-60mph. it will obliterate the G80 there. Turbos need time to build boost and make power. EVs don't.

but in terms of fun and performance its a miss. the car is obscenely heavy and will probably not have enough tire or brake to deal with the level of power.

Pretty sure it's available at all times until you run out of battery, and after 10 seconds you're down to 100hp boost. Who knows how long you have to wait to get the full power back, there must be some cool down time for the battery.

Paraphrased from the Carwow video

Mat: So, you can't get the AMG sports seats on the C43?
AMG: No, you can

Mat: But you can't get carbon fibre trim on the C43, right?
Amg: No, you can, but the C63 has stitching!

HOLY SHIT LMAO

It's over for Mercedes isn't it? My doc buddy who has a c63 said he's keeping his till it dies (2020). Why would you want this? It's a half shitty measure between gas only and EV.

But… 3.3 sec do not sound so special nowadays. I would like to know the 1/4 mile time and trap speed.

Most high perf cars launch at sub 3 second times (specially AWD). I agree, I would be interested in 1/4 mile and trap.

It is safe to say that 90% of potential C63 buyers would rather have a traditional 500 hp V8 and 1000 lbs less weight.

From C&D: AMG hopes to make up for the loss of the V-8 sound through artificial sound effects, which are transmitted into the cabin for the benefit of the occupants and through external speakers for the benefit of bystanders. The press release speaks of a "low-frequency, speed-modulated sound."

Next M3/M4 is rumored hybrid, following next gen M5.

What do you think a hybrid straight-6 M3 will weigh? G80 M3 xdrive is 3900lbs.

I disagree actually. I think the majority of C63 customers just like Mercedes and the image the AMG projects. They don't care what is powering the car. Some may renounce the brand but most will be return customers with the new model. AMG customers have also never cared about weight or handling in my experience.

Agreed. You only want a V8 if you're knowledgeable or really into cars. The rest likely don't care as long as it's fast enough or fits their lifestyle, number of cylinders be damned.
