I started out being anal about food and drink, but at the end of the day, the car is the only place I have time to shove toast in my face in the morning. I'm also not sure I can go longer than 10 minutes without snacking. I try to be as clean as I can, but at the end of the day, it's just a car and I'm not going to let that stop me from enjoying my life. The hooker smell in the trunk was a given from the beginning, though.

Idk, but am I the only one who drinks and eats in his car as he pleases, especially on long trips?

I mean did we buy the car to enjoy it or is the car enjoying us? Life's too short to worry about a spill or stain. Get the car detail cleaned if you have to but gosh enjoy it, it's just an F30

Its very simple you go to the closest used car dealership and buy yourself a 90's honda or toyota and use that for food delivery trips.

As long as you aren't 5 years old or eating messy food in the car, I don't see why the worry over a bit of food and drink. Considering how much time I spend in my car, I'm not going to avoid drinking or eating because of the cars interior. Clean up any messes right away and use weathertech mats. Coffee would never soak right through them.

He actually is a very cool boss and he also drives a BMW, and considering the coffee was being picked up for him he cut me a break after seeing the pics if I didn't take it to get cleaned right away it would have smelled like rotten milk by then end of the day

I do not eat in any of my cars. I make exceptions for long road trips because junk food is mandatory tradition for our road trips. However, I detail my cars after road trips. I love my cars to feel new until I get rid of them the following two years or so.

Man, I guess I am just old. I mean, we used to fuck in our cars, in the days before helicopter parents. Cleaning up an odd french fry or two ain't got nothing on the stuff I have cleaned up. Also, since being a parent, all manner of less interesting bodily discharges. Food, whatever. Just exercise caution and clean that stuff up. It's car, not a museum.

That said, I am a "don't eat and drive" kind of guy, cuz ... "only drive in S mode, yo - #racecar". But anyone else want to eat, that's cool. I don't have cars my kids aren't allowed in - never have.

when I got mine first thing I did was throw the dog in pile it with snacks, music, beverages, and the woman. then headed out for a road trip where seeing 75% pavement 25% dirt and thin mountain air.

what's the use in buying something expensive and not enjoying the fuck out of it?

I'm really glad you posted your experience with those BMW mats. I like the look on those much better than the Weathertechs I have and had been considering swapping them out. But knowing that the coffee seeped through makes me want to stay with what I already have. I do love the look of the red trim on them though.

I have my cars fully detailed every 60 days and hand washed almost weekly. I really don't care about the odd drop of coffee or french fry's.

I draw the line at Chinese Cuisine. I had a spill when I was a rep in July in South Louisiana taking food into an office. UGH. I think that they had to total the car. It was HORRIBLE. Weekly shampooing did nothing. It seeped into every crevice.

If your primary concern is the smell, buy a bottle of this stuff. It's great for leather, but if you just pour a dime size spot of it on the carpet under your driver's seat and lightly rub it into the carpet, your car will smell like a leather factory for weeks.
