I wonder if he will serve any jail time or what the conviction will be. I watched his videos every now and then on the supercardriver channel and he comes off as one of the most arrogant person I ever seen and just because he has a little bit of money and was fortunate to purchase these cars, he qualifies himself as a racing driver.

Sad, truly.
Accidents happen, and some are severe and heartbreaking. I'm sure the guy feels terrible, ideally he would step up and do something for kindness for the families involved (simply because he has the means). This is where the insurance companies ideally step in. These events are always risky, I've stood track side at Mosport along the back straight where cars are doing over 200 kmh. There is always the risk something could have happened accidentally and all it would take is a bolt flying off and seriously injuring me. People know that going into these events. We all just hope it never happens to us. Thoughts and prayers to all the victims of this unfortunate accident. |

Let me guess; you're also the guy who will take on all of ISIS should they ever show up in America right? haha
Jesus Christ man, it was a closed course and an accident. Relax the tough talk a bit. The blame is completely with the event organizers for apparently using styrofoam barriers. The only way this guy has some fault is if there were some event rules he was breaking. Otherwise, on a closed course you can push a car as hard as you want, within the rules. That's what "closed courses" are for remember!? |

Ok - I think there is also another lesson here....
Being a spectator at events like this are dangerous. This is true in almost any sport or activity (especially so in car or air events). What about an errant golf ball, or car penetrating the fence at Daytona, etc.... The organizers are most at fault here. Providing a safe mandated viewing distance for the crowd was not a consideration it would appear. That said - this is an unfortunate incident. |

Hell take a look at all the rally races where cars fly over turns into crowds, happens often, but everyone is assuming this risk before going. Want to have some nice soft hearted safe fun, stay home and have NERF battles with your kids. |

Not a chance in hell i would be standing that close to an open runway while amateurs drive their supercars past me at high speeds.

Using your scenario, if you were there and your child was hurt and you got to this rich bastard and killed him, then what? The then what is you would be in jail. If it happened in your great state of Texas you would be executed in short order. Then, your family would not have you anymore and that would be too bad. |

In this thread i leaned that having a kid makes you emotional and irrational. BUT, on the plus side of that, having a kid also gives you the right to beat people up for their actions whether intentional or not.

It may not have been bound to end bad, but with everything lined up the way it did, it's no surprise people got hurt. |

Too much power in the wrong hands is a lethal weapon.
It'd be like giving someone an AR-15 who's never even held a gun before and letting them just go at it. There's likely to be a lot of problems. Same thing with a car with that kind of power and an untrained driver behind the wheel. |

From looking at his "performance" at the end of this video >04:00... you can see by his steering inputs, that he isn't looking as far ahead as he should be.
My symphony to the victims of this crash.

Those plastic "bump" stops are not going to stop any vehicle going at speed. This is a tragic event and I'm sure the driver of the car is torn up over this. I'm also sure over the course of the coming months and probably years, he's going to be dealing with the fall out from this in the form of law suits not to mention probably having nightmares about what happened. This is not to diminish the suffering from the victims of the crash. But I feel the organizers are the real people responsible for what happened. |

Shit happens to professional drivers so blaming him for not knowing how to drive is retarded. It's obvious that the guy tried to keep it safe by actually going on a closed circuit to do what he did. Track safety management is at fault. There needs to be some concrete barriers between spectators and the track. I'm sure the poor guy feels like shit.

When I first saw the video I thought "oh, he'll just hit the barrier." I didn't realize they were plastic and not concrete or at least filled with something. The appearance of safety is not safety. I would not expect a casual spectator to inspect the barrier's suitability and so I can't fault them. Perhaps it was more obvious if you were at the event, but as mentioned above, those barriers were a joke and that's on the event organizer. Poor course design (where the turns are located) and worthless barriers in front of the crowd.
