I have only seen this once because I look right through Jeep's as if they are nearly invisible. To each their own though, I'm sure they don't notice my CCB's, and that's fine by me.

The Wrangler is popular as a tow-behind car for RV owners, because it is one of the few vehicles (and only Jeep model AFAIK) that can be flat-towed without a tow dolly or flatbed trailer.....

Provided you disconnect the rear shaft AFAIK...I think if you don't, and even though the transmission is in neutral, you're still spinning it and good things will not happen.

A number of stories out there of people just grenading their Jeep's transmission by towing it.

I'll add to this and just say, I also don't understand Jeeps period (wrangler specifically) - unless you're planning to take it off-road. But for solely on-road driving, they drive absolutely terribly. I'm not sure if there's a different version of the wrangler that drives better on the road or not, but I once had a Wrangler as a rental car, and it was quite possibly the worst driving car I've ever been in. The thing wouldn't drive straight, needed constant correcting, it was slow as hell, everything squeaked and rattled, and it was just loud and not in the pleasant engine noise way - so much tire and wind noise. Absolutely horrible experience.

Now that I've offended Wrangler drivers... someone tell me I did it wrong
Having had my wife lease a Wrangler for three years, I can absolutely attest to the fact that they don't drive well on the roads (but the newest ones are better than the older ones, still crap though), the amount of noise inside essentially requires you to yell at rear seat passengers to be heard, and quality control is a bit grim. Still, I didn't mind it - its quirks made it personable and less robotic than a lot of the vehicles out there today and I liked the look / stance of it. Off road, it was impressive what it could do.

You aren't wrong though - they aren't overall good vehicles, its just that I didn't mind it. Now, I also only drove it on the weekends...maybe if I drove it all the time, I would have a different feeling. My wife was looking forward to returning it just because it was so loud.

Yesss! See that big blue sparkly duck - we bought that and put it on the dash for laughs only it was in gold sparkly stuff. We just thought it was funny. It got a lot of kids pointing at it all the time. All in good fun, maybe it made some kids day.

This started with Mini's a few years and getting "ducked". As usual Jeepers have to grossly over-do things.

The Wrangler can be flat-towed by just shifting the transfer case into neutral, per the owner's manual. None of the other Jeep models can be flat-towed, AFAIK.....

We have had a wrangler rubicon since 2018. We love it. Never had a single issue with it. great with the top off. Goes anywhere.

Wind noise even with the top on is terrible. It does wander a bit on the road.

All depends on what you expect. The farthest thing from a luxury vehicle but still fun. And No Ducks on our dash.

Also i likely notice it more now because directly across the street my neighbors just traded in their gunmetal Wrangler for a Wrangler Truck, they plan to use to tow their camper. My closest friend has a rubicon also gunmetal and wife’s close friend had a bright turquoise lifted wrangler. None of them have any ducks though

I've heard that as well but have yet to experience this. Have had my Mini for close to a year now. I did once get asked what I named it - because apparently that's a thing as well. I just stared blankly and replied, "mini".

In the 30 years we’ve had Wranglers, it seems to have started to take off in the last 10 years. I’d always be mad walking up to see one on the handle and leave it where I’d parked, litter bug that I am.

Now that I’ve moved onto Broncos, I’ve been Bronco-ducked twice and left them on the ground too. I wish it wasn’t a thing.

I have an older Wrangler, a 1998 Sahara. The duck thing is stupid. My Wrangler is not a comfortable vehicle to drive, but it isn't my daily driver, and is perfect for weekends and nice days. Mine has significant suspension mods to make it more comfortable (larger tires, Fox shocks, H&R springs, stiffer swaybars, better brakes, etc) and I still wouldn't want to daily drive it.

I've seen non-Jeep vehicles with ducks covering the dash too, there is a new 330i local to me that has all sorts of them on the dash, so it isn't just limited to Jeeps.

This tradition has spilled over into the Mini Cooper groups as well.

My wife was parked next to another Cooper last week. Came out from doing her errands and there was a duck on her hood.

Us Land Cruiser folks just laugh and laugh...

On the Cruiser forums, someone tried to start up turtles. Boy they got set on fire.

I think the comradery aspect is admirable, but they're a different breed. The way I look at it, I'm just glad there's a group out there that's having fun with life. I hate to be in the cynical boat, but it's strange.

We were out in the woods on a river with the girls and a pack of them rolled in on the trail. Speakers blaring, tossing cigarette butts in the water, tossing beer cans in the back...probably 200 ducks amongst the group. A bit disappointing to see and experience in an otherwise pleasant day, but they handed a couple ducks to us for the girls. They got a big kick out of it.

It originated there.

100% - all cynicism aside - it’s cute to set ducks on others trucks - I reckon

Honestly - Whatever makes one feel like they belong to another community is cool.

I guess where I get lost is how in Gods stunningly green earth can a person drive around with 50 multi colored ducks in front of them. Psych speaking - it must be a way of saying “I’m not easily distracted?” It would drive me bananas to see all
that rubber dusty clutter while I’m driving.
