Anyone doing their own fireworks at home this year?

You up in the NC mountains? I thought I read somewhere that's where you were headed...but it could have been someone else.

Probably not too far from me. I live on the border of SC/NC near Tryon. Have in-laws near Boone.

Beautiful area everywhere and great roads to play on.

Yep - good memory - we are not too far from Boone - Linville Falls area - been coming here for generations and right now we've never been more thankful.

Giant waste of money and a pain to clean it all up. I do enjoy watching other people shoot them off. My wife and I are heading to our beach house this weekend so we will walk down to the beach on the 4th and watch people shoot them off.

With 2 boys under the age of 10 it's worth the hassle for us.

I have twins due in September, I will probably change my tune when they get a little older. But for now, I will enjoy other people's fireworks.

After doing commercial shows for a number of years, firework stand fireworks do not compare.

We won't be. I'm just hoping the dick head neighbors on the street behind us aren't going to do like they did last year when July 4th was during the week.

They were still setting off huge mortars until almost 1 am, when many including myself had to work the next day.
