Off topic, but this just happened to me yesterday. I was working in my office, and let off a terrible one. Within 3 seconds, my female boss comes strolling in saying "do you have a moment to go over something" and proceeded to sit down. It literally smelled like someone died and rotted whilst eating moldy eggs and she just sat right down and started talking.

I'll go one step further. Several weeks after this occurred, we changed our security system provider. When the company came to pick up their DVR, I was quite adamant about it being cleared before they left with it. The guy was very cool about it and asked no questions.
Yes, it was caught on film....all of it, multiple angles. I did manage to get a shitty recording of it, but did not have admin rights to delete the data. |

I was shocked. I mean, it was bad - and she didn't say a thing. I was impressed.

Because I was working for an employer who received a small portion of their funding from the provincial government my salary was publicly reported. Their explanation was that they thought they were offering me a $5K raise and that was meaningful. Like seriously dumb ... (and they used 2014 data for a 2017 job offer). As for Not_Judy given his management experience I hope he's not conflating his "interview" skills with his "mentorship" skills ... that can only lead to trouble. |

Jesus man, I can imagine.
I've let one slip from the other side of the desk before. The girl I was interviewing was extremely attractive. It was silent, she didn't hear it, be she sure as hell smelled it. The look on her face was hilarious when it hit her. It was all I could do to keep from laughing. It lingered, it was awful. She suffered through it and interviewed well. I ended up hiring her and she stuck with me for 3 years. She brought it up to me after working for me for a few months and laughed our asses off. I don't even want to know how many people she has told that story to throughout the years. |

The outcome of the interview mentioned here was not by my initiation. I am aggressive when it comes to things that I want, but in no way would I have risked my job for that situation. Also had she not made it clear during our chat that she really didn't want the job, it wouldn't have happened the way that it did. She did not ever work for me.

Not the case at all my good man. She received good "marks" for her efforts. It's a shame she didn't want the job, she was not afraid to go after what she wanted. ....at the same time, after that I couldn't have hired her....although I did keep her on my staff for a while. |

Negative. This was 2008, very grainy black and white footage, was re-recorded with a blackberry camera. I did save the video to the memory card and stored it on a computer that died several years ago.

i walked into this thread to see some potential red flags and what to look out for in interviews given i'm just beginning that journey.
so tip 1: don't fart, if the interviewer farts just let it slide tip 2: if you absolutely must, have sex with your interviewer a few days before they replace their surveillance system |

I was interviewed a few months back for a potential promotion. The VP I would have reported to asked me a question to try to see if I would lie or make something up. I asked her to repeat the question because I thought maybe she confused things, but reaffirmed her original question. So I told her politely she was mistaken and she said she was just testing me to see if I'd BS her. I went through the full interview process and the entire time this line of questioning bothered me. I was offered the job and despite it being about a 15% pay raise, I turned it down. I just didn't want to be periodically poop tested to see if I was going to be a good employee or not.
