The image looks AI generated. The front, the height of the mirrors, and generally the folds of the cover just don't make any sense. Same goes for the car under the red cover. My guess is someone needed a good picture for their powerpoint slide and just jumped to one of countless AI image generators to get... this.

And some screens . So in the corner we see upcoming M quad turbo electric concept based on i4 which as BMW stated is capable of 1 megawatt so 1360 ps and is about to have some crazy computer running it but we have some more hidden stuff in another corner where that super / hyper front is visible

He is right that this was BMW's plan a few years ago. Internal designation i16, and 4cyl turbo phev instead of the 3cyl turbo phev, but that project got delayed because of the poor reception of the XM.

So hey there's a chance they may have fine tuned it more and gotten more confident in the final product, OR it's the actual final design of that weird electric coupe prototype with the low front and really high rear that we all saw a couple months ago. Only time will tell since he's saying 2030ish, so that means the new design head from Polestar would likely be in full control of this car.

I wasn't implying the image wasn't from BMW - rather that the person at BMW making the presentation just used some AI image generator to spruce up their powerpoint.

However, considering the source is from 2022 that kills that theory as AI wasn't even half as good to produce that. So I was wrong either way!

Asked an automotive expert who from German car companies will sell to Chinese finest. BMW was his answer without hesitation. Dunno.

Hypercar should not be EV, if I look at the rather poor success Porsche has with theirs today (Mission X?).

make a car with a V12, make 1000 of them, and world will not care but enthusiasys will buy all of them. heck, make anything that looks cool, but dont make it a statement about how green you are.. Crazy idea for the woke BMW management.

Given one guys AMA on reddit account who works at random BMW dealer, the IX and i4 are the cars he sees most in his service bay. That tells one something about quality of EVs from BMW.

2030 is eons away - this seems like a desperate attempt to claw reassurance of new but feels like vaporware at best.
