If you take I 10 through Texas, there are some great roads NW of San Antonio that you can drive off of 290 through Fredricksburg, and the roads around Devils Backbone and the San Marcos area are fun also. I used to have a blast driving that area in my Merkur back in the day.........

I'll bet the drive through S. CO is awesome in the summer, especially around Telluride. I didn't get to enjoy it much when I drove through, but it was winter and I was in my Pilot with the fam.
