Networks raising volume for commercials & lowering it for shows

Noticed this with the ads now on Prime video, volume is jacked up.

Here's the scoop. The commercial can't peak louder than the peak of the show that is airing. What they do is have the entire commercial at the same volume as the peak of the show. Voilà, the commercial is appears louder than the show.

Earlier this year, I actually took something to which I turned out to be allergic (obviously only way to find out). Moderate hives head to toe within 4 days of taking it. Decided to stop taking it and made appt to see the dermatologist. He told me it was good I stopped taking it right away because you’d be surprised how many people just keep taking medicines even with more severe allergic symptoms. That’s when I figured out why they put that seemingly stupid disclaimer in the commercials.

If you skip the commercials long enough manually on youtube they eventually stop all together. I don’t get any commercials on youtube.

I have TamperMonkey for YouTube. I don't do ads of any sort, and will go to great lengths to make them go away. I'm not happy about the idiot flashing ad at the top of Bimmerpost now either. Currently searching for a way around it.

I use these four browser extensions in every system I encounter, in Chrome, Brave, Firefox, and Edge. Safari doesn't count, as it's not a real browser (lol)

All four are free (although ABP's constant begging for donations gets really old) and are highly regarded:

AdBlock Plus
uBlock Origin
Privacy Badger
Disconnect (see globalprivacycontrol.org)

The four together form a powerhouse of ad and script blocking, as well as additional privacy controls. I've found no contentions and no performance impact.

Recall what Amazon just started doing? Prior they had no ads. Then they started adding ads & wants us to pay more than we already do for ad free. F all these companies.

This! That's what happened to SirusXM... when it first came out, you were paying to have no commercials. Now you pay, and you get commercials, what a bargain.

Yeah, I don't pay for their no ads because I rarely watch anything on there, it's free with Prime so I don't really care about it. Maybe watched one show on there in the last two years.

I called them on this. Their explanation was that they weren't commercials, they were public service announcements. I hate it when they talk over the song intro (if I wanted a DJ, I'd listen to commercial radio) and incessantly tell me what channel I'm listening to! I KNOW WHAT CHANNEL I'M LISTENING TO!!!!!!!
