The technivorm is a great drip maker but when shit hits the fan I rather spend $20 on a presspot. I use some crap built in grinder for my morning brew but espressso gets a bit more finesse.

i don't make enough coffee to care but they make way too much and love it. otherwise i could care less I do like that store though. i can at least contain myself to not pull the trigger on the expensive lasagna pan or the awesome la cruset pans or the.....nearly whole store. my weakness is I'm close to pulling the trigger on orbit knives. do want those bad.

As sort of an update...
We actually got this one: Breville BES820XL We found it on deep clearance at Williams-Sonoma and it has been working great since we got it. We tried the ground Caribou espresso and it was alright. Then we tried a local roaster called Lake Erie Island and its was much smoother, creamier, and better. I'm enjoying the milk frother too.

I use a Keurig Platinum/Pro machine. The coffee is definitely not the best I've had, but it will suffice due to the per cup costs being cheap. It's also extremely quick. The tea it brews is great. Works for me overall.

Yes, and they also make ovens, fryers, space heaters, etc. The espresso's from those are not that good though.

Jura and Saeco are presently the best coffee machines (for every type of coffee) on the market. For home purpose obv. |

I am going to have to not so politely disagree with whatever you read on the internet as we are not talking about overpriced machines pushed out to consumers that offer the best ease of use and almost drinkable brew, we are talking about actual espresso machines. For home use. As stated earlier, a semi-auto single boiler machine like the gaggia classic is an OK starting point and really about as long as one should go while the Rancilli Silvia is a great starting point and will keep you satisfied to years. You talking about those brands is the equivalent of coming to a stereo thread and suggesting some discount 5.1 systems that come pre-assembled while others are talking about assembling components. While they may both play music, one is much superior. Last edited by JayKay335i; 03-04-2011 at 01:38 PM.. |

The only way to see what you like is to go try it. I would suggest a ristretto to really see what they've got. I personally dont think anything should be added to great espresso as the crema and drink it self should have an underlying sweetness. |
