Well...if it makes any difference. From what I've seen...from a roll the E60 M5 would walk on the 335i procede.

Thanks for the story sflgator. I think that's a great experience. I remember your 4.5 0-60 time. There is no doubt in my mind that the Procede 335 can keep up with the M5 in full power mode to around 100mph. If either of the drivers hesitates or shifts wrong then you could see either one pull on the other in that mph range.

unless you had a camera on your M5 buddies feet, you have no idea how hard he was trying or if he was messing with you, you don't have a calibrated ear that can tell the difference between 75% and 100% throttle in a neighboring car
beat a M5 on a dragstrip against a driver who has similar skill level (similar RT) and then I'll start to believe street racing is nothing to judge the speed of a car by, I've been in street races against slower cars and just not floored it because it's more interesting that way. should we all go visit the M5 board to see some other guy's thread about how some punk kid in a 335 tried to race him.............. |

Ha ha...too bad you're 3,000 mi. away. It would be fun to beat up on another Porsche. Whatever, dude...I'm certainly not here to impress or persuade you in any way. I suppose you believe all the videos of PROcede 335i's beating Porsches, M3s, Evos, GTOs, SRT-8s, S4s, etc. all are b.s too. Sorry I don't have a video for you; I don't keep my camera in the car.

doesn't take much skill to step on the loud pedal hard, especially when you're not shifting for yourself on the other hand, going around a track quickly..... |

Wanna run against some M5 / M6s?
SFLGator - I know you are not making outrageous claims but would you agree to run against some M5 / M6's?
I can try to set up something at a racetrack. What part of Florida do you live in? See this thread: http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/sho...d.php?t=102596

2. I didn't have a video camera as I said in my last post -- I do not keep one in my car. 3. I did speak with the M5 driver and his friend at the 3rd light; he was not "messing" with me...he was giving it all he got. 4. Would you believe I beat a GTO 6.0L and a modded Evo at the drag strip? B/c I did that night I went in June. Would you believe I beat 3 SRT-8s -- a 300C SRT-8, a Charger SRT-8, and a GC SRT-8; all not on the drag strip. 5. I'm sorry you don't read and understand my posts thoroughly...I feel like a f'in parrot...always repeating myself with you. Again, I'm not here to prove anything to you, that Porsche "fanboi" Ken B, or anyone else who feels the need to post insults on my thread. I couldn't care less what you boneheads think. I should've known better than to post this kind of thread; I only did so b/c I thought it was cool since I never dreamed that my car would even be close with an E60 M5 (even from a launch or a low speed roll to about 90mph). As surprised as I was, those 2 guys in the M5 were much more surprised and they relayed to me when we spoke.

Oh, now you're back to that argument again...a "real" racer drives stick and runs around in curvy track. Although it does take a much more skilled driver to do that, it doesn't mean this didn't happen the way I've described and I'm just lying about the whole thing...give me a break.

http://www.dragtimes.com/BMW-335i-Timeslip-13067.html And here's an '06 E60 M5's timeslip at Moroso... http://www.dragtimes.com/BMW-M5-Timeslip-7687.html And another '06 M5's timeslip at Moroso ... http://www.dragtimes.com/BMW-M5-Timeslip-11463.html Anyway, I see the trap speeds are much higher with the M5s (as expected), but the ETs are close. I expect that with PROcede v2.0 and my VS7 wheels, I'm hoping to run ~ 12.6-12.8 sec. @ 109+mph at Moroso when I go back in a couple months.

This thread is not a surpise for me.
I am not talking shit here. This really happened. Last friday I had an encounter with an blue M5 e60. We raced twice and he never could walk over me. Obviously, he was running at 500hp. First race was short. We started around 60 ending in a trafic light. Max speed 115 mph. I pulled like half car. Never could take me. He finished behind since another car was in his lane. Then, once the light came green, I started at front of him thinking one car advantage should not be significat for V10 car of 500 hp. The result was he never could pass me. I ended the race when I was hitting 120 mph since a cop car was far ahead. Then he quit to continue racing. I could not beleive I was humilliating a car that cost like $130,000 in PR (almost twice of 335). The thing is although he reduced some distance in the second race never could take me. My appreciation is, if the race would be longer he was going to take me. But we are talking about speed of over 110mphs. The feeling I got racing with the M5 is like to be racing with pig or cow with rockets. During the night this car looks really inmense and heavy. I never wrote about this here because I beleived nobody was going to beleive this. |

I agree...not saying that. I love the Porsche 911s and the Cayman. I'm not crazy about the Boxters and I think the Cayenne is just an overpriced VW Taureg.
