BMW VIN-decoder (specs of BMW cars since 1928)

Anyway to find options in a car by the vin#? Friend looking to pickup a 6 on leasetrader and the options listed do not seem right.

I typed in BMW vin decoder in google and a bunch came up. Tried my VIN and most of them worked/showed all my options.

These VIN decoders don't actually 'decode' the VIN. What they actually do is (somehow) extract information from the car's build sheet held by BMW.

As it relates to BMW General, rather than 1M only + generated almost 350K views, it was deemed appropriate to replicate that thread over here in the Bimmerpost BMW General section.

It says that it works on any car back to 1928, but it identifies my 3.0CS as a 318i.

I am trying to determine what "production number" my car is for how many were produced that year: 2013 BMW 650i xdrive Gran Coupe

Last 7 digits of my VIN# D098485 production date 11/28/2012


Anyone have an idea? would this maybe mean: my BMW is #09 out of total 8,485 650i Gran Coupes that were manufactured for the 2013 model....??

Remember, you only need to type the last 7 characters of your VIN. Not your complete VIN.

My search on all the above links shows everything my car has but show also that my car has an alarm installed.
However I do not think the car has an alarm. Is it possible those sites to be wrong?

Ok, I don't know how others are getting results from bimmer.work, because for all three of my VINs I get the results "Something went wrong". I've tried in Chrome and Firefox, same results. I have tried other VIN decoder sites and the VINs work at those sites.

I read somewhere that BMW was giving out coupons or small rebates b/c a bunch of cars were supposed to have alarms but did not - I'm thinking it was 2 series, but run a search (pretty sure it was this site forum), as there may be more details I'm forgetting. You may want to take it up w/ the dealership - might also be s/t they can just code on.
