Ok so update..
Don't get me wrong.. Still love Omega's but after reviewing Price points a little more I started looking and comparing Rolex's Didn't want anything over the top Flashy but fell in love with the new Explorer II after showing my wife she fell in love with it but wanted a watch as well.. She fell in love with the Blue Face Milgauss.. Well long story short... decided to bump the budget up and will be picking these up in October for our 1 year anniversary gifts to each other.. the Middle one and and the one on the right

Here is my PO. I have had it since 2008 and absolutely love the watch, my wife gave it to me the day I pinned on Colonel. I always receive compliments on it.
I had to have it serviced in 2012 and sent it in to Omega thru an authorized Omega dealer. The service cost about $400 if I remember correctly but it comes back with a new warranty when you have it serviced this way. I also have an Omega Seamster Americas Cup and love that watch as well. I got that in 2003, my wife also gave me that one when I pinned on Lieutenant Colonel. I have had the America's cup serviced twice, once under warranty. My wife bought both of them from Topper Jewelers in California. I have heard that Omega does not allow their prices to be posted on the internet. Topper is an authorized dealer and will only tell you the price of the watch over the phone. They are VERY competitive and I would give them a call if I were you. I have bought an Omega for my wife from them as well.

Set budget @ $5K firm --> PO @ ~$3.9K new --> Shows wife --> Milgauss + Exp II @ ~$12 at least (if lucky at a GMS) Why bother defining a budget, much less a "firm" one? I don't care what you buy or spend. It's just the story line that makes me laugh. All the best.

Haha... I know
Was set at one budget and was gonna stick to my guns.. Got a promotion I have been waiting on... Doesn't officially start until Oct 1 but adding that Great news to our 1 year anniversary I thought I would stretch the budget for a watch when my wife started looking she fell in love with the Milgauss and said she really wanted one too. a close buddy of mine is friends with the owner of our local AD... he is helping us with an incredible price... I could prob sell both and turn a good profit... but not what I'm in it for.. Looking to keep these as they will have history to us for years to come. Crazy how things work out sometimes. Still love an Omega though.... the planet ocean and the speedmaster 57 still have me hooked. . But one of those will have to wait.

I'm in the watch biz and could probably help you out if you are still interested in any particular Omega. PM me if you are still in the market.
Thanks! |

Actually am considering an Omega Speedmaster 57.. Not sure if I will be able to pull the trigger on it for awhile though after this October's Milgauss and Explorer II purchases..
But the new 57 has definitely grabbed my attention I would be interested to get a price from you

Tony, that was an amazing post. Thanks for sharing the knowledge.
For watch fans there are 2 sites I recommend: The Rolex Forum (great info, has sections for other brands like Omega). WatchRecon (aggregates the "For Sale" sections of lots of different sites). I have bought a number of watches online and have been fortunate not to get burned. "Buy the Seller" is a good motto. You pay a bit more but have more peace of mind. |

I have a Omega Speedmaster Date that was given by my wife back in 2011 and the price was around $2.5k then. Most of the new Omegas these days have all gone up in price, especially with the introduction of the ceramic bezel.
