I'm not getting a ps4 pro and I don't think I will get consoles anymore after this generation.
I'm willing to bet MS Project Scorpio "console" will be like a steam machine. A PC stuffed into a smaller case w/ upgradeable parts.

Asus Avaon is a pc. Which is why I believe project scorpio will be a console/pc hybrid with a version of desktop Windows OS.
MS has already begun cannibalizing their Xbox market by having new games available day one on Win 10. What exclusives does MS have solely on Xbox now? Forza, GoW, Halo are all available on PC with cross buy support.

LOL you just compared PSVR and Vive, thats like comparing a Geo to an M4, totally different class.

Did you upgrade from a regular PS4 or just buy the PRO outward? I agree that if you're in the market for a PS4, you might as well get the PRO because the price difference is negligible. The real question is, is it worth dumping the regular PS4 for a +/- $150 and then picking up a $400 PRO for people who already own a PS4... |

Owning a regular PS4 I can't justify to upgrade. Might be worth the upgrade if you already own a 4k TV for VR purposes but since I own a gaming pc with the Vive it's stupid. There sales will tank more with the release of the Nintendo switch which I preordered lol. |

I upgraded my regular (civic!) PS4 to a pro as I had a 4K HDR TV and am more than happy with it. As has been stated it's not night and day difference but certainly a decent bump up in capabilites. The new 4.5 firmware releasing soon also includes a boost mode for the pro for those games where developers haven't released patches. When games like Horizon:Zero Dawn release (in a few days I think) that will really show the extended capabilities of the pro - at least from the preview vids.
As for VR, it's not the gold plated Vive solution and some graphics can be a bit blocky (looking at you PS2 graphics Driveclub VR!) but the immersion is spectacular and you soon forget about the (slight) lack of graphical fidelity. I defy anyone to play Batman Arkham VR and not feel cool when you put on the famous cowl, or indeed to sh*t your pants playing Resident Evil 7 in VR. Both Pro and PSVR represent new steps forward, and software to take advantage of them will improve I'm sure; it's only 3-4 months since release after all |

I have the Pro and really like it, my first PS4. Haven't had any problems with it so far and love the controller.

It is my understanding that most are 4k optimized but there are some games like TLOU that run native 4k.

i think general consensus is ps4 owners don't necessarily see the need to upgrade and new purchasers should go with the ps4 pro.
Even if you dont have HDR i think the ps4 pro will run current and future games better. When I play FFXV and there is a graphic heavy scene, my ps4 has graphics artifacts all over the screen implying that it is running at its max.

I still run PS3 + GT5&6, waiting for the jump to PS4VR + GT sport... for the use I give to this old setup, I'm more than happy with PS3 and will be waiting forever if they still don't offer a solid package for driving in VR.

Now that it's been a little over a year since the PS4 Pro release, how do you guys like it? Is it a worthwhile upgrade over the regular model?
For those that went from regular to Pro, how hard was it to move the game data? Or were you even able to? I haven't done much research on this but how easy/hard is it to move existing saved game data? |

I mean it’s pretty much transparent if you are a plus subscriber. I went from PS4 to Pro since I had gotten a 4K hdr tv and I simply synced my backup to the cloud, turned it off, set up the PS4 Pro and started restoring everything. That’s the fast and more incremental way to do it. You can follow these steps to essentially reimage your old PS4 to new PS4 Pro. But it can take several hours:

I guess the way I looked at it is, I typically only play one game at a time, so didn’t worry about games I might go back to later on until I decided to.

i just picked up a new 65" LG OLED tv 4k HDR.. the whole shebang....
but i still own my launch edition PS4. been playing some COD on it as well as fortnite... it looks pretty good in my opinion... amazon currently has the PS4 Pro on sale 15% off... not sure if its worth the jump. I also have the PS VR but it the launch edition that does not support HDR.. the new one from what i understand does. first world problems i guess |
