With any luck they’ll partner with Govee to ensure all the LED strip lighting can move with the music (Executive Package only)

Is the iX5 fully electric or BEV?

Fully electric and BEV are exactly the same thing.

iX5 is fully electric (aka BEV)

X5 50e/M60e are plug in hybrids (PHEV)

The other models are combustion engines (ICE)

The “i” moniker in the model name (e.g. iX1, iX3, iX5) is designated to EV cars

The “e” moniker is designated to plug-in hybrids (e.g. X5 50e, X1 30e, 330e)

If moving the interior to be more luxurious is anything like the new X3...then count me out. They had made the same claim for the new X3. However, if that is their idea of 'luxury' then I must have an uncalibrated to the new BMW system of measurement...

And I wouldn't be shocked if they ruin the exterior anyhow (also like the X3).

Even if this was said in sarcasm - we don’t care tbh. They got to fix their freaking cars first.

This weird generation of immense focus on all the bells and whistles takes the true car design, engineering and dynamics away only bringing cheaper components (aka manufacturing cost savings) to the maker but a $10k price increase to the customer.

There is way too much gimmick in this automotive world now with papa Elon leading the way.

Although the vehicle is heavily camouflaged, the design language is less than flattering. I expect current generation X5 sales to increase significantly prior to the launch of a new model.

Do you think there will be a Mild Hybrid V8 (M60) and a Plug in Hybrid V8 (M60e/X5M)?

based on the OP, there will be an M60 and M60e. Whether the M60 is mild hybrid or not, we have to wait and find out. But given the way things have been going, it is more than likely to be a mild hybrid

Anyone else notice this crazy (troubling) design element going on above the rocker panel?

"High luxury"

So like the new 5er, by not offering full leather, high-end audio, or soft close?

Got it.

Yes, I can’t figure out if that’s actually in the body or if it’s tacked on as camo.

I think there is something there, I can make out two flat black segments of it showing through the camo. With that said, we have no idea if it’s an actual part of the car, or it’s hiding some kind of testing equipment.

Looks like maybe the same design as the g60. if x5 PHEV and ice will share same body or leverage same design as the EV version then it’s bc the EV needs to hide the housing of the battery.

From the article..

"El motor con tecnología PHEV del nuevo BMW X5 M60e xDrive

Bajo el capó del nuevo X5 M60e habrá un motor de gasolina de 3.0 litros TwinPower Turbo con seis cilindros. Un bloque acompañado de un esquema híbrido enchufable en el que destacan dos componentes clave. Un motor eléctrico y una batería de iones de litio. La potencia total rondará los 570 CV y será manejado a través de una caja de cambios automática de ocho velocidades y un sistema de tracción integral xDrive."

No V8 for the M60/60e

If you Zoom in you can clearly see that it is just a Camouflage part on top.

The interior will most likely look at cheap as the G90 M5 look, full of plastic and no extended Merino leather. Only time will tell...

The next-gen X5/iX5 will be based on an evolution of the CLAR platform, not the Neue Klasse, so very likely no frunk.
