Rethinking my original post. The only reasons that would make me purchase the 360 are.
1; a way to lock out stationary Ka band. Colorado is starting to use Ka on permeant road information signs.
2; if it blocked the new vehicle anti collision radar and laser.

Really like my Passport Max (the 2 version came out a few months after I purchased mine!) but this price is getting silly - unless it comes with some invisible cloaking device count me out!!

As for getting gunned from behind, you really should be paying frequent attention to your rearview since a cop could pace you without any radar warning at all. Finally, once you have the experience to make good use of a detector, you can tell whether a signal is in front or behind very quickly. Speeding and getting away with it has about a 80% / 20% brain-to-detector ratio.
The arrows are helpful if used to warn on what's ahead. By the time radar's been targeted on you, most times its too late.

No radar detector will help if someone is clearly over the limit.

That is both a help and a hindrance. We have a CDOT road sign that can be detected for 2 miles from the west and about 7 miles from the east. It is using Ka band. I would like to be able to just lock that frequency in those areas. Unfortunately the only way is to reach up and hit the mute button every time. It is worse with my V1 as it can not be muted only turned off.

Yes. Instant-on radar is the one thing I look out for, and thus slow down for, when I'm driving on an interstate and there are no (nearly no) cars around. That generally happens for me when I'm driving at odd hours of the night. At all other times, a cop with instant-on radar will target some other driver ahead of me and my detector will pick up the brief signal. I use that as my clue to slow down and pay attention until I've driven past the range from which my detector could have picked up the short radar burst that was aimed at the other driver or until I've passed the cop.

I realize that's not a perfect solution, but it's the best I can do short of jamming the radar signal; thus it's what I do. I don't have a radar jammer.

All the best.

Escort's Live phone app is a joke. Waze is SOOOooo much better. My Max broke in half while sitting on my window (apparently a known issue that I have to pay to get fixed) so I thought I'd upgrade to the Max2 because of the EscortLive app. The app is pretty much generally useless in my experience since you have to be around someone else that ponied up $600 for a detector who is also posting stuff to the app, or that just gets auto posted when the detector goes off. I've started using Waze and gave up on the EL app. Waze is almost as good as a RD since its free to everyone and you get rewards for posting.

The new 360 does take the arrows that I loved on my V1 and finally adds them to a GPS enabled detector. It might actually be worth the upgrade. Too bad they haven't improved their window mount at all. My Max2 with the new mount still bounces all over the place and sounds like chattering skeleton teeth. Still a horrible design with the fulcrum all at the top of the detector.

E-Bay has many tape on mounts for the MAX and they don't bounce any where as much as the Escort mount. After the Escort cup fell off constantly this summer I wanted something better and found the products on E-Bay.

Escort Sticky Cup works fairly well for me. Not perfect but better than the previous products. Blendmount products are supposed to be even better but haven't invested in once yet.

I'm still trying to decide if I should pull the trigger, I have the 9500ix and love it, just dread the fact that it doesn't have arrows.

This is on sale now for $650, no tax/shipping to CA.

If you buy this on their website before January, they have a speeding ticket guarantee that they'll reimburse you in full if you get a speeding ticket by 2017, as long as you also don't get cited for DUI or reckless driving.

Looks like the cheapest you can get a 360 is on Radar Roys site for around $580. I think you have to join his "fan club" tho..

My BEL Pro 500 is hard-wired and uses sticky cups (I keep extra sets on hand that you can get eBay) mounted just underneath my rearview mirror. The placement is "optimal" for ANY direction radar may be looming!

I think it's worth the money but my main concern is the false alarms I get constantly from other cars using adaptive cruise controls. It's usually k band. Any word if they are able to filter out these alerts?

I will tell you situational awareness is the most important part of not getting caught speeding. More times than not just knowing a radar signal is out there should be enough to take the appropriate actions.

However, with that said, and I like those who think the arrows were and are a marketing gimmic. First keep in mind that Valentine developed radar detection for the military and they use directions to know where the radar source is coming from so you know which action to take and when so it is not a gimmic is has a real world applications.

I have been using using a V1 since the 90's and I can share with you lots of times where the arrows helped more times and not. One simple one is you are on one side of the highway and the police are on the other side. You will get a front hit and then all of a sudden a rear lights but you do not see anything on your side of the road and you are trying to figure out where it is coming from. The whole time the source is on the other side of a road shoot traffic going the other way.

Radar bounces around and if you do not have the arrows you would only see it coming from the front and think the source in still in front of you when in fact it from behind on the other side of the road but bouncing off the truck that still a half mile down the road on the other side.

Besides having good situational awareness the arrow do in fact add to that awareness and allow you to make quick decisions. I do not live in a state which they use moving radar which they can come up from behind. VA is great at this and I have used my VA in VA inspite of it being illegal and it saved me went they hang back in traffic and shoot cars in front of them.

I get those very rarely even though plenty of cars around here use adaptive cruise/radar. If I were to go in right then, I could lock out that frequency. But it's no biggie. Besides, Only Ka around here are Police.

Yes....all o' that.

It's all about information, and the better the body of info one has, the better able one is to make the best decision in the shortest amount of time.

Other:
BTW, have you noticed whether your V1's tones "punch through" your loud music when you are just jammin' as you cruise-control your way down the highway? Mine does, but the tone of the Passport Max, though very loud, doesn't catch my ear as the V1's tone does in the same situation.

Of course, I just don't "jam" as loudly with the P-Max, but I have to be thinking about it. Had a close call of sorts once when one of my favorite songs came on, I cranked the volume, and no sooner did I, the thing went off, and I happened to notice it visually. Just lucky.

All the best.

I don't understand all the dislike for the arrows. I've been using a V1 for over 8 years and the arrows really helped out my situational awareness avoiding speeding tickets countless times. To say I'm a fan of the arrows is an understatement. This new Escort has striked my fancy. If proven to work well, I may have to pick one of these up.

I use the Blendmount for my 9500ix, I hope it'll fit the Max 360. I read that it would fit but the GPS is a bit janky since it sits right where the Blendmount holster is, but I'm sure it should be fine.
