From 12 into my 20's skateboarding. Something about the roar of urethane wheels on concrete, the pop of wood against concrete or wood and of course metal grinding concrete sooths my soul. After 24 I developed a pretty healthy love of golf. Haven't done either in years. These days it's just the gym after work 5-6 days a week. My work schedule, being a home owner and the girlfriend leaves very little time for anything else.

High school started with football, basketball, and golf. Then the high-school built a pool and I switched to Waterpolo (AAU rules, not wimpy Olympic style), swimming, and golf. Four varsity letters in golf, three in waterpolo and swimming. High-School All-American in Waterpolo (credit for creating the bounce—now "skip"—shot around 1968) and state champ in swimming (breaststroke). In college, after transferring, I played waterpolo again which was just like competitive swimming for the college since they could work us in the pool even out of season. (Warm-up before waterpolo practice was to swim one-mile.) Three-a-day practices (in the pool at 6am) put the hurt on my studio time after transferring to the Architecture school, so I dropped it.

My parents own a cottage north of Toronto, so as a yut it was lots of water sports. I swam competitively in high school, cross country running, water skiing, scuba diving, hockey, baseball, weight training and running from in my teens until recently. Many injuries from the job, so now my knees, neck and back give me lots of grief so brisk walking daily and lots of it, some very light weights and some golf (whack-fuck). I'll be 60 in May.

I used to enjoy both...until I took them in college for credits. The volleyball coach was some sort of olympics drill coach washout, and she had us do nothing but drills the entire semester. We seriously never even played the game once! She also taught badminton, and at least we had a chance to play a few games in the last two classes of that semester.....

Bush walking and pounding the treadmill and cycling are my latest fitness trends, at school I was adept to cricket shunning football and rugby.

Baseball when I was young. Got my black belt in Tang Soo Do and never really went from there. Football - was pretty good with offers from top schools; then I snapped an ACL and broke a couple vertebrae...oops. Basketball. Snowboarding and wakeboarding. Sailing. Kayaking. MTB and road cycling. Hiking - that's a sport, right? Swim... Sheesh, I don't know, I'm with 1MOREMOD , didn't guys just try everything?

I played....play basketball. I stopped cuz of the Vid. In HS I also played baseball & golf. Baseball I played 1st, 2nd, 3rd, left, right, & center fields, & pitcher. I mainly played center field though because I was fast enough to cover either outfielder and strong enough to throw to home plate from the deep part of center without a cutoff man.

When younger did little league baseball for a few years. Band geek in high school (not a sport) but spent time outside of school surfing and skating and shorinji kempo. In college continued surfing but picked up rowing - did that for all 4 years fall and spring seasons. Left college, picked up snowboarding up north, continued surfing on shore leave during patrols in Mexico. Married, kids, etc then got into bow flex on my own, still have it but about 7 years ago started Krav Maga then quickly transitioned to shorin ryu karate - now do that 4 times a week and love it.

Surfed in high school, tennis from college (didn't play FOR college team) until I got transferred overseas for work and my game kind of died. Then started soccer at a pretty advanced age.
Still play soccer 3-4 times a week in a pickup game where the age range is 16 to old. Knees are starting to complain - loudly.

Grew up playing soccer, basketball & football (backyard baseball (had no desire to play in a league) & kickball). Quit football in 6th grade after playing as a WR.
Sophomore yr of HS - Senior year played rugby & won 3 State Championships (we were state champs 5 years in a row). Sadly that rugby program no longer exists. Fantastic sport and I miss it. My senior year I helped coach the 1st women's team & my little sister (she was a freshman). She went on to play through college and now plays for the Nashville Women's Team.

Just recently retired from sempiro football. DE/LB depending on the scheme, TE, and started at QB a few games due to injury. Also coordinated the offense and defense. Good times. Don't miss the aches and pains.
Played basketball from 5th grade, soccer off and on; had to stop playing basketball after too many ankle injuries. I play pickleball now |

As a little kid I played YMCA Football and Baseball. I also played the Alto Sax, so in High School I choose music rather than sports. I was OK at sports, but I was above average in music.
As an adult I trained and got a Black Belt in TKD, and orange in Aikido and took Krav Maga for a couple of years. |

Played basketball and soccer throughout high school. Wanted to continue playing basketball in college but when I got there I realized I wasn't quite the star I was in high school.... so ended up playing in intramural leagues throughout college.
Now I'm 35 and occasionally play if someone asks me nicely.
