I just got me a 911 (991.1) and our 2023 Macan GTS (sadly) must go. My wife wants to keep her MDX boat and I lost that battle.
It is Chalk outside, black inside, looks new inside and out. Clean Carfax and all maintenance. 18,300 miles on it and 20k service completed.
PM me if interested please

I would agree, the 6 cylinder sounds so good...It has to be the 718 GTS 4.0 for me at a bare minimum...was once my dream car until my wife had other ideas

Fine choice

What happened? Did your wife make you buy one of those

Hey, don't put down the minivan. Lee Iacocca introduced it to the world. Same guy who introduced the Mustang to the world.

...and the Ford Pinto.

This is one of the best vehicle purchase decisions I've made to date. Don't regret it one bit. However...now I'm looking to replace the M4 with a Targa 4S.

No doubt, best sounding car I've ever owned.

Porsches were never something that interested me until the GT3RS debuted with that amazing sound flat 6. Now, I'd really like to own one (even a Boxster GTS with the 4.0) , but it's just not in the cards financially. I'm not sure it ever will be, and when it is, I may be too old to appreciate it.

Worsening the situation is the fact I sat in a Boxster a few years back at an auto show and found that the interior just fit me perfectly, like it was made for me.

Oh well.

Sell the 240i, find a reliable beater as a DD for under $10K and get yourself a 987.2 Boxster. I DD a 2008 Saab and weekend a 997.2 911.

Similar situation here.
Getting the 991.1 Carrera S was the best move for me.
The sound, the rawness, the size/looks, handling is just amazing.
It is my DD though but I only put about 300-350 miles per month on it.

Sounds to me like you're recommending I ditch the M4 for the 991 Targa.

Been eying this one for the last month, just haven't pulled the trigger on calling. This would replace the M4 as my daily (same - only do a few hundred miles / month), and think the AWD would be better suited for winter.

Of course, need to convince the Mrs. That's the hard part.

Don't buy 4wd sports cars, makes baby jesus cry. That does look fantastic and will hold value better than your M4 but is it just you or are you toting kids too?

I love Porsche's...I have a friend with a GT3 and another with a Panomara and they look and drive beautifully. However, I have a hard time justifying the cost of purchase and maintenance, etc. I'd rather retire with as much assets as possible. Until I have FU money (which will likely never happen), I don't see myself in one and will have to live vicariously through friends. Kudos to you who can afford it or say YOLO and dive in.

It's tricky. I am usually quite conservative with money and a planner etc but I am nearly 50, who knows how long you have left? I bought a 15 yr old 911 as a fairweather car, it was an absurd purchase really, total of 80K CDn which is mad money for a car. However I continue to DD a beater I have had for 14 years and owes me nothing and if shit hits the fan a 911 is a liquid asset and can be sold for very near what I paid for it. You can see me tie myself in knots here https://e84.xbimmers.com/forums/show....php?t=1768413

Not being a sniper but you have a well loaded new X5 in your profile, that's gotta be what, 70 grand? You could in theory drive a 10 year old CRV and weekend a 911 for the same money.

I hear you, 100pc, but I just felt it was now or never and you don't know what can happen to you as you get past 40.

Totally get that and it's fully subjective. I don't have room for a third car (wife does have a Honda haha) and would rather have a car that serves as a daily driver that also has a fun side. I did the 2 car dance once with a Z4M Coupe and a beater blazer for winter/practicality but didn't like the experience. If I went the Porsche route, I'd want a NEW one with all the things on it $$$

Honestly, my wife is already unhappy about what I'll be spending on the X5 and it's getting near where my cutoff is for spend on a vehicle philosophically. If not, I would've ordered an M60i. I have the S1000XR motorcycle for real excitement and I'd rather save the money for experiences (e.g. vacations) and retire in a few years at 55. Maybe if I sold a few of my 10 guitars lol...life is fully of choices.

I purchased my 991.1 (with 38k miles) for less than the G80 and enjoy it waaaayyyy more than any BMW I owned since 335is.
I also added a 5 year/ 40k miles Platinum warranty that will cover any major issue and with that still came way cheaper that the G80.
Have a good Indy shop in town that does maintenance at fair prices.
So…I am loving it!
