Looks like a reasonable build. I would try to get the I7 cheaper or with a mobo combo since you aren't doing any fancy over clocking or SLI

Not real a monster rig, but satisfy my requirements for flightsims and street race. Both gears are from TM (except rudder pedals), wheel not shown.

I build a new rig about 2-3 years. Here's my latest creation from this past April, with the only new parts being a pair of GTX 1080s added last month.
i7 6700k over clocked to 4.8ghz Gigabyte G1 motherboard (the mack daddy one) 32GB DDR4 Samsung M2 SSDs Sli GTX 1080s Liquid cooling on CPU and board (EK extreme cooling kit with 3 row rad) Corsair Obsidian 700D case Acer X34 Predator Monitor, 3440x1440 I run BF4 at 3440x1440, ultra everything and 180% res scaling and get a solid 85-90 fps. It's absolutely incredible. I can also run GTA V with max everything at 3440x1440, and 150% scaling and achieve a nice 75-80fps. What a system. |

New build im working on. First custom liquid cooling loop. I moved over my ASROCK Z170 and 3570k. Sold my GPUs. Was running 2 R9 280x's for my 4k setup. Was going to order 2 GTX 1080s but now waiting until Jan for a GTX1080ti. I want to make sure I get exactly what I want the first time since water blocks are not cheap.
Anyone here from OCN? |

CPU hardly gets above room temp. Not overclocking it at the moment (no need) but I have and it runs about 5-7deg hotter at 4.5GHz. I want a 1080 but I just can't justify the ROI at the moment - the 980 is doing just fine. Will see what happens to the prices if/when the ti comes out... |
