But at the end of the day, its just another boring, run of mill, 3 series BMW with zero character or appeal. You can make anything fast.

Either way. How many production cars can run 9s in the 1/4 mile, completely stock (literally stock because it comes with skinny tires for the front and drag radials for the rear) and with a warranty? 1....the Demon.
They really revised the suspension, worked the engine and are giving the tools to us to do so. I'm still surprised that it can do 9.65 being how heavy it is. But the gearing, tires and suspension really does seem to work. If you run 9.99 or faster at a NHRA track, then you have to get a NHRA license and safety equipment installed. Which I could only assume is a roll cage. |

One big difference between the ultra-modified 3 series and this car is that the demon will handle 800+ horsepower more reliably since it is coming from the factory and has probably gone through more extensive testing considering they will have to warranty it.
And since it was designed around drag radials and they are comfortable talking about buyer putting slicks on the car, it must have pretty sturdy components. |

I only took two pictures of the Demon today... I figured I'd share the other.

You know the Civic crowd can say the same about the BMW... The moment you bring aftermarket into the equation, then it will become a very different conversation. You can make ANYTHING fast with enough $$. |
