Report from an Italian paper has said that Binotto is leaving Ferrari F1 manager role shortly as the pressure is insurmountable for him, if true then Fred Vasseur is in the waiting.

You don't leave a position like that (FIA secretary general) after less than 6 months.
As a comparison, her predecessor sat there 5 years.

I really really wonder what was said in that private meeting between Horner, Rao and Ben Sulayem one month ago in Austin.
Interesting (Dutch) article concerning Mattia Binotto => https://www.autoblog.nl/nieuws/schei...icieel-3421564

Binotto is already this weekend fired but it is said that Binotto himself resigned .

You are fired , or you yourself offer your resignation and the latter option often sounds better for your dignity .

Too bad for Bino !

I don't know if replacing Binotto is gonna change anything, but pretty much everyone is of the opinion that Ferrari's team performance on raceweekends both in the pits as in the strategy department was really poor, and Binotto has final responsibility for that.

If you were becoming the new Ferrari F1 team boss, would you try to replace mechanics (who also do pitstops) and strategists, or try to reschool them?
Are both viable options? (can you get new f1 mechanics and strategists? Are there companies who can train current staff? Who has that expertise?)
Getting new personell, probably the only way is to buy them away from other teams. That eats in your budget.
I wonder how expensive Hanna Schmitz would be nowadays. She can probably ask anything she wants when the Ferrari call comes
Every extra point Ferrari can score is worth between $260.000 and $470.000 (divide the budget cap with either wdc or wcc points, depending on your goal), so that adds up pretty quickly.

Sure .And actually It's like a complex clockwork system .

• The pitstop and race strategy
• The planning from the team strategists depending from the race situation
• The pitstop execution and choosing the right moment
• The tire strategy
• The right downforce setup and upgrades depending from the track
• The driver with a beginners mistake or just bad luck
• The reliability of the car and PU

And so much more , as I said It's like a complex clockwork system ..
If someone or something fails in the clockwork system , it will be very clear in the race.
And the whole team system can go down by the mistake from one single person .
One human mistake is enough to lose the race , which is usually seen in ridiculous situations .
Ferrari was/is the big loser in pitstops and race strategies .

Was it lack of training ?
Was it a lack of motivation ?

Is it the Italian nonchalance and negligence ? Lack of discipline ?
YES !!! Very likely !

But only one person is responsible for all these performances in this complex clockwork system !

The Ferrari team boss "Mattia Binotto"

So ,Mattia Binotto will be replaced , too bad ! But that wont change anything .

IMHO in one word : *Ferrari'd

The next one will be shackled with the 'Ferrari way' as Binotto and all the previous ones were, a decision still awaiting..but Mattia wants to leave.

According to the Italian newspapers Binotto is currently already gone this weekend !

A big factor was the fact that Charlie didn't wanted to speak anymore with the Ferrari Team Boss Mattia Binotto .
The unpleasant situation from Binoto vs Charlie began already at the Silverstone GP.
They no longer spoke to each other from July 3 .In other words : For 5 months in complete silence !
How do you want to race in such a situation and perform in a F1 Top Team like Ferrari ?

Of course other teams are (already) very interested to get Binotto , as he carries a lot of Ferrari top technology !

In other words : The 5H1T is real at Ferrari ...

Others said : It's just part of the Italian Ferrari soap opera !

Ferrari is said "The House of Lies and Truth".
Binotto is the best engineer and motor guy Ferrari can imagine. His only task in 2017 was, instead, to replace Arrivabene by whichever way. He succeeded. After that, he had, besides his often successful ideas in motors and chassis, to LEAD a team. And here he constantly failed.

Despite of so much qualifying poles, not a single P1 was achieved in a race. And this is not only the team's and the drivers' fault; it's Binotto's lack of leading skills, especially in pampering the always complaining Leclerc in a way that he self-confidentially heads to the pole in a race and has no reason to grumble about the mechanics, the set up nor the strategy.

1994 to 2008, when Jean Todt was in the saddle, was so successful not only because of his way of leading, but especially because Todt insisted to start his career with a completely new team, HIS team, and he said "I need this and that, period!"

I doubt any new team chef will be happy in this Italian house of lies and truth without having a fresh, own team setup. And I don't see someone like back then Todt who can and is allowed by Ferrari's authorities to achieve this.

In summary, another Jean Todt isn't to be found in the horizon, sadly.

Yes of course the Ferrari secrets, oh boy! it will be another Raoistic situation but not quite in the same sense. It must be remembered he's a dapper engineer and a specialist in other things but not managing everyone in the team so Ferrari top brass are in the firing line also for choosing him in the first place..perhaps that why the delay is b/c of the known secrets and deep in thought in Maranello
