I get migraines from perfumes/colognes and the only one I can wear is Acqua Di Gio by Armani and the only one my wife wears is Opium by YSL.

Aventus is a great fragrance and I remember snagging a sample a few weeks before it went on general sale. My only problem with it is it has become like a Rolex is to non watch people ie ask them to name an expensive cologne and this and Tom Ford's Tuscan Leather is what you'll most likely hear. Too use yet another watch analogy it's becoming like the Nautlius was to Patek, in other words it's in very real danger of over shadowing every other product from the house. I totally get it and Tuscan's success though. I get lots(or should I say got given what has been going on this past year) compliments for my choices of fragrances. Some are mainstream, some are high end, some are deadstock, some are very little known and some just need to be sought out but I tell only one person, who is not my other half, what I'm wearing as I don't want to go somewhere and find people I know wearing the same as I am, a bit snobbish I know : PS I notice there are some real old school choices on here. |

That and the Oud Wood don't get worn much. They're both amazing scents but also very stout.

Versace Dylan Blue, Acqua Di GIÒ Absolu, and Just Me Paris Hilton for Men.
Surprisingly i get the most compliments from the Paris Hilton cologne. |

WOW! I haven't smelled that since my HS girlfriend in 1984! I didn't even know it was still around. I'm sure it would bring back nice memories though, like the Tabu or Youth Dew that my mom wore would bring.
For me, I hate anything not smelling good including myself. Even though I usually see nobody during the day during all this work from home crap, after I shower I still put on cologne every day. For me it's Creed Avantus, Royal Water Millesime or Viking depending on time of the year. Or Hermès Voyage or Eau Intense Vetiver. Louis Vuitton Nouveau Monde for when I want to be reminded of Venice (the villa we use is above LV, so it smells like that)

I'm allergic to fragrances in bar soaps, laundry detergents, etc. Skin rash is no fun.

I think I have a bottle of Cool Water still kicking around from highschool.
My wife gets headaches from basically any cologne so I stopped wearing it when we met in 1999. I've been in a sort of cologne time capsule ever since. I just Googled all the old scents I used to wear and was totally blown away that not only do they all still exist, the packaging and bottles are all unchanged. Right down to the Addidas cologne from the mid 80s! |
