roof line looks lower / sleeker than the current X5. almost like a high-riding wagon. I'm officially intrigued.

Is this car intended to replace ICE-based X5 or offered as a parallel model?

Since the X5 was introduced, BMW has never messed it up with it or never really did anything controversial like we have seen with every other model. Here’s hoping the next-gen continues this trend.

Curb Weights:

R1S - 7,068 lbs
EQE AMG - 5,534 lbs
Model X Plaid - 5,248
EV9 GT line - 5,886

So a lot closer to 5,500 lbs than Jupiter.

Why? I'd be very interested. My wife currently drives a Cayenne PHEV and I think with the amount of miles she drives in EV mode, she'd be more than ready for an EV SUV. I've already owned two Model 3's so we are no strangers to electrification.

This will be only electric, not a shared platform. So it will be lighter than X5 hybrid, as iX is.

Could not agree more. This isn’t the right time to take risks with X5 success formula.

All the recent new designs have been SO bad, just leave the camo on and sell them that way. Would look 10x better.

You clearly never seen an electric powered elephant. They are pretty sleek. Smaller trunk though.

They are sticking with the side skirts that get your trousers dirty. I don’t know why they won’t put those on the door like everyone else has
