This statement makes no sense because the 7 series is a boatload of money more than a 3 series (coupe or sedan). As in the case of the 1series vs 3series, people actually have a legitimate reason to compare the two. Why? Because they're very closely priced and both offer very similar performances. I dont understand how comparing those 2 are like comparing apples to oranges since the 1 series was based on the E46 (aka 3 series) platform.

Crazy that the plaque for the 1-series is out and we have pricing. Where is the M3 pricing??

What do they hope to gain by pricing it so close to the 3-series? To take sales away from the 3-series. Just don't understand the reasons for bringing the 1-series to the states when it is priced so closely.

Dont know why everyones so shocked about the pricing. Its been said for more than a month that the base would be around $35k. Its a 135, not a civic.

Where's Garrett at now? Keep on telling us about your magical unicorn of a vehicle.

Ha ha, funny you mentioned the Ti; I just saw one yesterday...some young girl driving a red Ti and it had an ///M badge on it! I almost threw up b/c I was laughing so hard. I wanted to make fun of her, but I couldn't catch up ...alright, I actually blew by her, but didn't say anything.

That 1-series MSRP and options pricing seems very similar to the e46 prices.

I'm going to call a Tii MSRP of $48k.

I've seen a Ti with that badge too.

I mean dont get me wrong the Ti seems like a good vehicle just America wasn't and still really isn't into the whole hatchback thing. Plus VW seems to have that market down.

Secondly, for all we know these could sell like crazy. But for now I am betting more people will opt for the 3 series. For a few reasons.

I can see why some would get the 1 series aswell.

I just hope BMW has some sort of planning incase it doesn't do well.

So right now you can pick up a Z4M coupe fully loaded in the mid $40s, premium package, nav, leather, BMW assist.

That makes a 135i the same price if not more in price with similar options.

Call your local dealership(s). They are (or were) having these huge discounts on the 07 models because they're not selling so well. I believe it was about $15k off MSRP.

as i said in the other thread, you people are dreaming if you thought the 135i was gonna be anywhere near $30 grand. FYI, TOYOTA CAMRY's these days can cost upward of 30 grand. the 135i is a performance machine, not an A to B commuter car.

as for the 135i "stealing" sales from the 335i, i just don't see it. 2 completely different cars and customers. the 335i looks more classy/adult, has more space, and is heavier. the 135i looks like a boy racing machine, is very small, and is lighter. i don't see many people cross shopping these. people who are into all out performance with no regard to looks or functionality will get the 135i. people who want a mean looking machine with good space and performance to back it up will get the 335i. it's that simple.

i'm still laughing at people who thought the 135i was gonna be $30k. that is just ludacris. tell me, what car is faster than the 135i for $36k? and you're saying this car is overpriced? :lmao:

I still dont believe the pricing info! The base price is legit, the options listed are not! Try to get another dealership in the country to print out the same form from Pure BMW. I work for BMW and this sheet does not exist. The one with just the base pricing can be found at any dealer, not the one with the options and pricing. BS!

Not arguing with you, I feel ya. I was just going to say an Evo 8/9 or Sti is faster for less. I know, I know, refinement.
