Never selling mine!!
With all the Z4M Vs. Boxster S talk (for the time period), if you've never seen this top gear segment it's pretty fun. There's also one that puts a Z4M up against a 2006 Viper and they're even around a track. It's another Top Gear episode, but was with Clarkson. We all know the disdain he has for American cars (he doesn't like the Z4M really either lol), and I'm not sure I buy the bit about the Z4M being as capable on track as a Viper, but it was fun to watch. ;D http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1a...4-m-roads_auto |

Holy cow ! No one mentioned 2007 E92/N54. I have it. As long as you have some kind of warranty this thing rocks. Under 75k miles you will get third party warranty for around $1k per year. Factor in it retails around $15k. Having owned this I no longer lust for m240 or m2 but have set my sights on a 918 or 718 cayman s..It's that good.

A sport sedan no matter how nice/fast just isn't a sports car. I have both, and can tell the difference. I think you can too if you're looking at 718 cayman S. I'm assuming the 918 you have there is a typo, or else you'd be in the wrong forum...

I am looking to get a used Z4 next year; but possibly buy late this year. Want to spend about $15 - $20 CDN. Is their a particular model year(s) i should strive for? Or stay away from for reliability....Any thought appreciated. Doing the research is part of the fun.

I didn't get the M Coupe because I drive too much for the maintenance requirements of the S54, so I got the Z4 3.0 (I love the N52 - I have two). The Z4 Coupe whether in M guise or not, is one damned nice sports car. The chassis is so frickin stiff, it makes the car special regardless of the engine.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
