One thing to remember about the Netflix, is that it hides 80% of it's content because it uses algorithms to determine what you like. And it won't branch out until you scroll up, past the advertising, to the categories and start watching different genres. For instance, they have great documentaries, but I was never saw that category until I watched "Sour Grapes", now docs are a main section when you scroll down through the "advertising" part of their interface. I watch "Locked Up Raw" and the next time I logged in, there's a shit ton of new jail shows I never saw until I watch that one show. I hope that makes sense.
I pay for Amazon and my buddy pays for Netflix and we share log ins, it's a great way to have both as an option. I get HBO free with my internet and I think I've watch it maybe twice. It just blows. I love "Die Hard", but I don't need to see it for an entire month in 2018! Amazon's 4k is pretty clear on my end. I have a 60" 4k and The Grand Tour looks amazing. Also, I run my cable box through my XBOX One and it up samples it to 4k. Now, it ain't perfect, but it does look better than going straight through ht cable box alone.

^ Disagree on HBO. The reason to subscribe to HBO, or Showtime for that matter, are their original series. A good movie every now and then is a bonus.

I have both. I prefer Netflix for one reason only and that is the speed which I download movies. I just downloaded 4 3.5 hour movies. Each one downloaded in 10 seconds. I have 2gig internet service so its obviously really fast. Amazon downloads are painfully slow in comparison 90 to 120 seconds for a similar length movie.

I have the basic channels NBC, ABC, FOX, and CBS for sports. I have amazon prime, hbo, and netflix for everything else. I watch HBO and Netflix the most. Prime is great for all the features you get but I hate the interface.

The updated Prime interface is annoying, and it now lags on my Samsung SmartTV. This and the fact that the content is less interesting will lead me to re-activate my Netflix account in fall. Just holding back during summer in order to motivate me to leave the couch and either work on or drive my cars.
