The Universe is so epic
Give this a watch and discuss. I am still trying to wrap my mind around the vastness of the universe illustrated in this video. So much life on our planet, so little understand of any life elsewhere, though there must be. |

I think it is just too vast for the human brain to even comprehend. It's like infinity. We use that word a lot, but it's hard to imagine if your first word was "9" and you kept saying 9 for the rest of your life as fast as you could - when you died that number would STILL be closer to zero than it would be to infinity. Our brains just can't make that make sense like we can looking at 2 rocks and seeing one is bigger.
We like to say earth is a grain of sand to the universe, but it is actually far, far, far, far less than that. We truly could be in a drop of water in a larger world for all we know. It's insane.

90-95% of our universe is made of “dark matter or dark energy” and we have no idea what it is.

I love stuff like this, tx. That's why I think it's stupid that us humans fight w each other, we are lesser than specks of dust on an ant's body, why have conflict when we are really all connected, why not work together creating instead of destroying?
Here's something similiar.

I can spend hours watching videos about the universe.
I’m currently watching videos about the JWST finding evidence that refutes the Big Bang. Fascinating stuff! |

If you guys haven't already, check out the documentary "A Trip to Infinity" on Netflix, you'll love it.

and to think we're made of atomic particles and nothingness was evidentially a thing.

It’s fascinating when you stop to think: our creator has literally thought of everything, or that science is just so amazing, but where is the intersection between faith and study of facts. Not a religion discussion, but I find it an interesting question whether you are religious or not.

However I'm not sure why we expect to discover or know everything. For all we know we are a flea on a dogs ass in the cosmic perspective and we don't know and will probably never know shit about anything. Like an ant trying to understand the universe. |

I wouldn't doubt that it wasn't true and just click bait. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the big bang was proven false at some point either. I get that the big bang is the most popular theory based on science and what we know of physics etc., but I find it hard to believe that with our limited knowledge of the universe we could say what happened 13 biliion years ago. Just like an ant can't comprehend how the earth operates, I think we are basically ants in the grand scale of the universe (no matter how smart we like to think we are). |

That is why I get so pissed at the term "Don't question the science" - that is ACTUALLY science. Everything changes with new evidence. The JWT is already poking holes in what we "know". I love it. Science is a ride, not a destination. We already know our current physics fail in certain areas - so we know there has to be something else.

If you put a quarter on the ground and placed 300,000,000,000 more quarters around it at 300 feet apart -- this 1 quarter would be our star system and the other 300,000,000,000 would represent the other star systems and their planets. Spread out all over North America - that quarter would represent our planets entire solar system and North America would represent our entire Milky Way Galaxy.
Beyond our Milky Way Galaxy there are approximately 1,000,000,000,000 (1 trillion) more Galaxies like ours. |

Just seeing the sun on that video is such a great reminder of how intricately designed our planet is in terms of our dependence on the distance earth is from the sun. Then there’s the moon and it’s affect on the tides and whatever else. All of it too awesome to comprehend but fun to try. |
