I love a good fight scene, but I don't want to watch 2 straight hours of it.

Imma taking it further than you. I didn't see why all the hoopla for the 1st one even, it was alright, that's about it, so for sure the sequels weren't as good as that and I kept thinking 'why make them?' but ofc it's all about the $$$$.

Yeah, look at the comic book movies that are nothing but ideas/dialogue for 5th graders with lots of CGI.

Not really a fan of the John Wick movies but I know others are here so I posted the new trailer for them.

And agree with OkieSnuffBox on the comic book movies. Too many, too much CGI, too dumb. Kid's movies.

Ya, they're for adult kids, not a fan either, not excited for Thor #6 or Spider-man #11, they are all too similar, just 'style' over substance.

Some like them and some don't. We all have our opinions here, and you know what they say...

Saw black panther 2 today, i enjoyed it. Nice tribute to Chadwick Boseman, definitely missed in the MCU. I liked the villain. Feel like there were some things that could've been done a little different but good movie overall.
Referencing earlier posts, ambulance was....meh...i man it was a little exciting but...i dunno... okay movie I guess.
Knives out was a good movie IMO. Looking forward to the sequel.

Agreed. I like the villain much better than Acquaman. Different universes though.

Yes, for adult kids too.

To add to my post above: my son, who is 35, loves Marvel and DC movies. He also loves Disney, Star Wars, LOTR movies, and many more that I can't think of right now.

I respect his opinion and point of view. There are many adults who share his passion. To them, these movies are not dumb at all. I take back calling them dumb, which I did in my post earlier.

I would NEVER call them dumb…to their face

I dunno, I'm not gonna say anymore but that type of movie is definitely not my cuppa tea.

Love her - she's just incredible, like to see anything she's worked on.

Finally got around to seeing Hell or High Water. I found it to be VERY entertaining and would highly recommend watching it if you haven't already. Bridges performance was perfect and Pine did a pretty damn good job too, but Foster was just incredible.

Thanks for this – I'll definitely take a look at it, as I've always enjoyed Bridges' work.

I've thought of him as an actor who perfectly fills the space between the always-solid character actors and the stars that come and go. His seven Academy Award nominations across 45 years back that up. He just brings it, every time, even when I don't care at all for the material; e.g., the Big Lebowski.

The recent The Old Man series was remarkably poorly done and didn't reflect either Bridges' nor Lithgow's capabilities at anywhere near their best. It was a real waste of talent, I thought. My 2¢, of course.

In addition, IIRC, Bridges' lymphoma cancer held up production of that series for an extended period of time. Later he said "‘Covid made my cancer look like nothing". I hope we'll see Bridges provide us with his personal brand of entertainment for at least a few more years.

Watched this the other day. Early Jeff Bridges from 1981. He's not the main star. Pretty good, but it's a sad film.

BTW, I liked "The Old Man."

Also, thought "Hell or High Water" was an excellent film.

Hell or High Water was great - also check out True Grit for Bridges - very good.

Since we're in a Bridges lovefest, Bone Tomahawk is pretty unique.

Oh yeah, I thought this was a great movie!

Of course, it's not partial since I'm a big fan of "The Dude."

His role in the remake of True Grit was awesome as well.

I mean as a 40-year old man, I'm technically an adult child, but I still have the mindset of a 20-year old college student. Since the fiance and I don't have children and don't want them.

I've just never gotten into stuff like that.

I like that stuff that's at least tangentially grounded in something close to reality. I have thoughts on why certain people enjoy things like that, but I don't want to get another infraction.

I really enjoy this OT section more than most.

Who doesn't love The Dude?

And yeah, "True Grit," the remake, was a very good movie. I, personally, liked it better than the original, and that's saying something because that was with John Wayne.
