Their rye is all I buy. Not into just about anything else they make lol. These two bottles were scored when they had a big "home delivery" sale due to the pandemic.

Here's a few home-grown labels I have been savouring lately. The Archie Rose Malted Rye is like a spicy straight rye with a hint of super-sweet bourbon. The FNQ Rum Co. Iridium Dark Rum is an orgy of toffee and burnt chocolate flavours, yummeee.

Picked up a few bottles this weekend on a trip to the Hudson Valley. This distillery makes their own barrels.

Opened this smoked maple bourbon first. Sounds sweeter than actual, and good smokiness to balance it out. Yum!

Gonna be making some tiki drinks tonight. Will post pics then - don't have any good tiki mugs, though. Might have to fix that little problem.....

Been 6 months since I drank, lil life/health renewal lol. But beach next week...Bulleit is our whiskey.

Veil Brewing IPA (simple the best, maybe Tree House, Trillium and Hill Farmstead close - where Veil brewer studied along with Cantillon) They have a couple flag ships, but as a rule weekly new IPA's, stouts etc are released. White Ferrari is my favorite.

I miss my beer

This one seemed appropriate, all things considered:

Quarantine Order
3 oz aged rum
1 oz lime juice
1 oz grapefruit juice
0.5 oz cinnamon syrup
0.5 oz passion fruit syrup
5 dashes Angostura bitter

Shake all ingredients well, until ice begins to break up. Pour into your favorite tiki mug. Garnish with a lime wheel and a Luxardo cherry.

Got a bottle of Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel. Think EJ small batch all smoothed out, oakey and just a bit more "Finished". Nice.

Let the deed show

Great sherry flavoring, not as hot as the cask. 16 years smoothness

Feel better with this: I am on call. That in the picture had to last thru 5 innings. The last little bit of amber went with the last sliver of ice

Check in Monday night

Yeah, seems like that's the way some of these larger craft breweries are going. As long as they don't mess with the beer, I guess I'm ok with it. My worry is that they will mess with the recipe or distribution and ruin good beer, though.

So, if we understand you correctly, the area is ripe with bourbon, and you are going to send us all samples of something off your property?

Where do I send the PM????

So complicated. Seconds look difficult, thirds impossible.

Dark 'n Stormy:
- Equal parts dark rum and ginger beer
- lime juice to taste (hint: a lot) (other hint: use real effin' limes)
- stir with plenty of ice

Actually N. KY (across the river from Cincinnati where I live) is one of the worst places in the country to buy it. Too many people are into it and too many people come here to visit and buy a bottle. I understand the deal with picking up and flying with bottles pretty well.....
