I think the mid field will be super crunched up this year, there might not even be a "back of the field" team anymore, because everyone looks so much faster this year. If you look at HAAS they have gotten so much quicker and their practice times are even faster than their pole times last year. If you look at Alfa Zhou is doing so good, and isn't driving like a pay driver. I really don't know how it will pan out.


Even the front of the pack (Ferrari, RB, Merc and maybe mclaren) don't look like they're going to run away from the rest. I think this will be a really close year - or I can be totally wrong.

I mean I agree with you (minus the FIA meme part) that Merc very well could be sand bagging, but I really don't know where Merc stands right now. I can't tell if they're sand bagging or if they're really struggling or if they're purposefully making the car porpoise to see what the limits are on setup so they can avoid it, and also so they have data of where said limits are so they can engineer to compensate for the limits. This is what scarbs is saying Merc are doing because he speculated other teams giving up trying to solve porpoising so they're sacrificing a but of performance by increasing height or cutting slots in the floor to stop the porpoising. But Merc are trying to not have to sacrifice anything.

I'm not sure what the case is.

None of that was true, Alpha tauri introduced the concept first. But no one protested it then, there are plausible reasons to this:

1) Because Alpha tauri is not a threat to RB or Ferrari, if they were then RB could just order them to back off to save the main team.

2) Because mercedes's concept is the most effective as it is sitting on a large aero device that creates a good bit of down wash and this is a great place to add some vorticies into the flow field.

I'm kidding. Just wearing my tin foil hat. I just think this would be something Merc would do. We know they sandbag. We know they innovate. For all we know, they cheat (which in this sport is kind of normal and they simply call it "pushing the envelope"). Now they have such a different car from everyone else and they may have some technology that they really want to protect so wing mirrors would be an easy way to detract.

That's because the mirror sits on the side impact structure, which is a Carbon cone surrounded by an aero shroud. Maybe instead of speculating you should refer to the engineers breaking down the w13, it would greatly decrease the amount of misinformation you two spread. It actually seems like most of the allegations you two put out are all speculatory, and not based in fact but emotional hate towards Mercedes.

Eg: the front wings being too high was the prime example you two dont post based on fact, but based on emotions.
