Suit your car to a tee… I think I prefer their look over the ARC 8s on the saloon personally…

That’s why I stick with 18s on my F31… I really like the 405Ms as they’re forged and c9kg a corner. The 397s I’ve got on as winters are nearly 14kg a corner, you can really tell the difference… Easy to clean though I keep looking at Apex wheels but struggling to justify their cost

Probably a boring post being a standard car, but it's hard to believe I've done 26K in the old girl already!
As purchased in November 22 on 38K miles....@ £19K. As it is now on 64K miles....@ £14.5K The paint and interior are still absolutely immaculate after 26K daily miles. Not sure how I've escaped a billion stone chips, so credit due to BMW on their paint quality. My old VWs and Audis had crap paint that chipped easier than my girlfriend's 99p nail polish. Loved the look of the factory fitted 442Ms but wasn't thrilled by the ride quality of 19s. The 400M is my favourite F30 wheel, so grabbed a very tidy set from a forum member. They're just discreet, easy to clean and suit the car, imo. Spec is M Sport plus I believe and has the Harman stereo and some other bits and bobs. I get lost in BMW's myriad specs tbh, but I like it It's treated me well and not a single fault so far, and has returned 51mpg over those 26K miles. Long may it continue. 3K oil changes should help Last edited by TurboWeasel; 02-17-2024 at 09:54 AM.. |

After a week away in the Highlands and constant bloody rain here; a contactless wash is all it's going to get...
We've snow forecast later this week/next weekend here...

These pics are putting my car to shame ... how do you clean the engine bay so well?

McBeemer the first clean is the hardest
Start with a de-greaser (Gunk do a good one) Then a general cleaner Then a dressing (bumper care or similar) Once it's done once a weekly wipe over will do it 😎 |

I gave my engine bay a wipe down at the weekend, it’s generally spotless but filthy after the road trip to the highlands and back When I first got the car back in Jan 2023 I gave it through clean using Autoglym’s Engine Bay cleaner / degreaser with numerous brushes and cloths, a good (but gentle) power wash rinse after that, dried it all off and treated the plastics with 303 Aerospace protectant. However that doesn’t last well IMO, so I use AGs Vinyl & Rubber Care spray and it works really well/lasts longer etc… Now, it’s just a quick wipe down and re-treat and it’s spotless again.

Thanks to both you guys ... I can see now that a careful power wash is okay (I wasn't sure if it would cause issues) Might tackle it at the weekend.

Good to see him using the AG products I use too... The 303 protectant is good; it just doesn't last at all unfortunately

Yeah I use Aerospace 303 stuff in the engine bay as well. My theory is if garages see a pristine engine bay, they will think "Picky customer" and do a better job I even went as far as to replace all rusty bolts on the slam panel and latch brackets, just because
Replacing the yellowed coolant tank with a fresh white one is next on the list. |

I have a strange feeling I've driven past you before though. I've only ever seen a grey 340i and a black 340i in my area.

Powerwise i'm making just shy of 600, as not running premium fueling nor meth. I know loads of youtubers talk about getting 700+bhp on a similar setup but no idea how they do that on standard tesco fuel |

That sounds awesome, would love to check it out one day! I'm still stock apart from some intake mods. I've never been in a tuned B58, so i'm sure yours would scare the life out of me Who carried out the work?
