Booked a table for a special occasion at a posh Mayfair restaurant tomorrow for a lunch brunch, will take pics of the servings.

There's a dumpy-looking deli located in a house at the end of our street, and strangely none of our neighbors go there. Despite the exterior appearance and middle of nowhere location, the place seems to turn a heavy customer volume for breakfast and lunch from the tradespeople and blue collar crowd. Despite having lived here for 16 years, neither my DW or I were ever in the place...until today.

My DW reports that the interior was clean and completely different than the exterior when she went to pick up our lunch. The burger that I ordered was fresh and juicy, and the fries were crunchy and saltless as ordered. The price was more than fair for the food they delivered, and I expect to be ordering from there again in the future.....

Starter was Theo's anti pasta platter followed by a risotto. Secondi was slow cooked crispy pork within white wine sauce, potato and fennel al forno salsa verde and jus with unlimited prosecco.
Dolci platter was Amalfi lemon tart, soft chocolate cake, panna cota and ricotta cheesecake.
After the restaurant went for a walk around to visit some famous shops we haven't been to for a while including Fortnum & Masons.
Got some more pics if you want.

Anybody ever use Mayo instead of butter/margarine when making a grilled cheese sandwich? It actually turns out pretty good.

Not having that today but the above post made me think of it.

Not for grilled cheese, but that's how I BBQ hamburger or hot dog buns.

I have a weird relationship with mayonnaise. On one hand I like it. On the other hand I think it is disgusting. Essentially if it is poured on thick (like a McChicken) I am out - very thin spread and I'm good. I still can't fathom why Japan loves that stuff so much - especially on top of random stuff like bean sprouts.

I feel the same way. It can be revolting. Some people use it on french fries. Yuck!

If it's Mayo, it's gotta be the Japanese Mayo. The kewpie.

I much prefer butter but Mayo gives it extra crunch.
