Ones age related decline can sometimes be determined by using the formula (number of minutes into a movie when one realizes one has seen it before X the number of minutes later one decides Fuck It and watches it again).

Cheech & Chong claimed to have played Black Sabbath backwards at 78 RPM. Results? They saw God!

We may know what 78 RPM is but I doubt if most of us used it, or 16 RPM for that matter. I never used either of them. Only 45 and 33 RPM.

Have you ever heard of a long forgotten vinyl format, the 16 2/3 RPM record? They were half the speed of the 33 1/3 RPM albums that were the traditional standard for recorded music. Most record players in the 1950s and 1960s came with a speed setting to play these long forgotten discs that were considered novelties even during the years they were available.
Slower Than Slow: 16 RPM Records

Please exit my lawn, kind sir! I have a whole set of classic 78's, including WWII-vintage Spike Jones.

I also have a number of 78rpm records stashed in my record collection at my buddy's house. No room here currently.

Well good for you.

My father had some Frank Sinatra (and others) on 78 RPM records. He died at the age of 87 ten years ago. We weren't close at all. I do like me some Sinatra, though.

This pic was from 1947 - a little before my time - I was born in '55. A lot of people collect old 78s.

45 was good for turning your favorite band into the Chipmunks.

45 singles were what I first bought at around 11,12 years old. 1966, 67. Sounded great to me.

Well, of course that would be funny. 😄

I actually did have an Alvin & the Chipmunks record. It was a 33 RPM Christmas record.
