The first Pascal cards launch at the end of the month with 3rd party benchmarks coming on May 17.

I doubt that 980Ti-1080 is going to be as big of a jump as people say it is outside of VR. I don't want VR and I have no issues pushing AAA games at ultra 1440p and 70fps. I'll only find it necessary to really upgrade when cards come out that can push Ultra 4k at 60-80fps. At that point I'll buy a 4k monitor like i keep wanting to. I also don't really see the point in upgrading every single card generation.

Also the 1080Ti will likely use a new pcb design and HBM2 memory since it will be based on the Pascal Titan. So it will be another big improvement over the 1080. Similar to how the 980Ti was a big leap over the 980. But at that point I may just wait for Volta. 980Ti will be no slouch for a few years unless dx12 performance is really that bad.


Anyway as far as games go I'm playing Batman: Arkam Asylum in between rounds of Rocket League. I've never played the Arkam games and im really enjoying the first one right now.

I started gaming back in the Quake days but have been on a major hiatus since 2005. Just a bit of Forza in between.

Just built a budget gaming rig last week and pre-ordered DOOM a few minutes ago. So f'n psyched! Crossing my fingers for decent frame rate at 1080!

you can prolly squeeze more FPS if you liquid cool your GPU and OC but these Radeon cards run real hot.

Never cared to try playing Uncharted, but after The Last of Us I became a fan of Naughty Dog.

you need a pelican case for the system to travel with. Or just install games on your work computer like I may or may not do (for times on the road).

Never played the other series. My 1st uncharted. I'm on the same boat. Last of us is one of my all time fav games.

Im not sure about Doom at this time, have played all former games and expecting not real improvements aside of the graphics. Whats bothering me much more is the fact that they brought Uncharted 4 only for the damn consoles and I wont buy one only to play this.

Just beat Gravity Rush Remastered. They got rid of all the waggle controls of the Vita original, making for a more consistent experience. Can't wait for the sequel.

Now to just sit here and roll my thumbs until Odin Sphere Leifthrasir comes out next month.

Anyone playing Salt & Sanctuary? I love 2d Metroid-vania style games and this ramps up the difficulty considerably. Lots of fun, but don't try to play with keyboard/mouse. Gamepad is a must.

Even an AIO would be expensive for that rig.

270X is a fine card for 1080


Im curious about getting back into the division. Is anyone on pc willing to squad up? Apparently they made it even harder to solo run the dark zone. Doesnt seem worth it.

Harder into the DZ? No, not at all. Actually there are not so many a$$holes who ambush you right at the extraction zones when waiting for the helo, but aside from that its not harder than before. I found more the daily and weekly jobs into the HQ at stage 4 extremely hard and the AI acts unfair. But the green items are really cool to combine.

Just picked up Destiny again since vanilla. Legendary bundle with all expansions on sale for $30. Story has been fun so far, but I hope that the endgame isn't as time consuming as it originally was.
